What you will do in this role:

  • Facilitate responses to service requests, including initial contact, assessment, referral, designation of care level, admission, and follow-up.
  • Conduct initial evaluations, initiate assessments, document patient symptoms, functioning, and needs, and provide information to MD for level of care determination.
  • Demonstrate excellent customer service skills when assisting patients, physicians, visitors, and coworkers promptly and courteously.
  • Possess clear knowledge of Emergency Detention paperwork, processes, and EMTALA regulations.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Graduate from an accredited nursing program or hold relevant state licensure.
  • Previous experience in a psychiatric healthcare facility, preferably with chemical dependency, dual diagnosis, psychiatric, and geriatric patients.
  • Experience in patient assessments, family motivation, treatment planning, and communication with external review organizations.
  • Current unencumbered license to practice nursing in the state.
  • CPR certification and Crisis Prevention Training (CPI) within 30 days of employment and prior to patient contact.
