The ideal candidate has an associate degree or higher and strong communication, MS Word/Excel, and database skills, with ability to work with diverse communities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

  • Associate’s degree or higher or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Strong communication and knowledge of community resources; analytical and problem-solving ability.
  • Must be proficient in MS Word and Excel and able to learn specialized databases and software.
  • Ability to work with a culturally diverse customer base with sensitivity.
  • Excellent interpersonal, time management, and written and verbal communication skills.
  • Knowledge of WIOA program and other workforce program requirements.
  • Thrives in a fast-paced environment with discretion and resourcefulness.

Responsibilities

  • Act as a first line of contact with participants interested in enrolling into WIOA services.
  • Share information on programs and act as first line of contact for inquiries.
  • Respond to inquiries and track all applications for service.
  • Maintain knowledge of workforce activities across the Greater Memphis area for accurate assistance.
  • Prepare monthly reports on calls and touchpoints.
  • Follow policies and regulations related to eligibility documentation.
  • Other duties as needed to support the program.

Career TEAM is looking to hire an Intake Specialist in the Jefferson Parish – Metairie area who will be responsible for processing, documenting, and communicating customer service inflow across multiple intake portals. This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at the listed location.

Your Impact on Career TEAM’s Success
  • Act as a first line of contact with participants interested in enrolling into WIOA services
  • Share information on programs and act as a first line of contact with participants interested in enrolling in WIOA services
  • Share information on activities and offerings to all interested participants and answer questions participants may have
  • Collect, respond, and initiate tracking for all virtually submitted applications for service
  • Respond to phone and social media service inquiries
  • Maintain current knowledge of workforce activities across the Greater Memphis area to ensure accurate and responsive assistance for customers engaged
  • Maintain inventory of all virtual program orientation completions and match to program applicants, updating tracking as appropriate
  • Collect and process uploaded program information, including appropriate documentation on applicable tracking systems
  • Respond to inquiries (both internal and external) regarding application status
  • Track and prepare monthly reports regarding incoming calls and touchpoints received
  • Prepare monthly facility access reports to reflect both in‑person and incoming phone calls
  • Follow all policies, procedures, and regulations related to eligibility documentation
  • Approach each day and task with a “ZAG” mindset
  • Other duties and projects as needed for the success of the program
The Ideal Qualifications for this Position Include
  • Associate’s degree or higher, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Strong communication skills and knowledge of community resourcesPossess strong analytical and problem‑solving skills, with the ability to make well‑thought‑out decisions
  • Must have MS Word and Excel skills at minimum, and the ability to learn specialized databases and software systems
  • Ability to work in a variety of settings with a culturally diverse customer base with the ability to be culturally sensitive
  • Ability to serve as a role model to customers and motivate them towards achieving goals
  • Ability to meet and exceed set goals and objectives
  • Excellent interpersonal, time management, customer service, organizational skills, and communication skills, both oral and written required
  • Knowledgeable about the WIOA program and other workforce program requirements
  • A demonstrated ability to thrive in a fast‑paced environment while remaining flexible, proactive, resourceful, and efficient in maintaining a high level of confidentiality
  • Exceptional time management skills to meet deadlines and work under pressure
  • Strong multitasking abilities and proactive approach to tasks
  • Training in Trauma Informed Care, evidence‑based practice, and/or whole‑family services
  • Bilingual or Multilingual preferred
  • A valid driver’s license
Travel

The position may require local travel up to 30% of the time.

Employment Type

Full‑time, non‑exempt.
