Job summary

Palmetto Infusion in Eastman, GA is seeking an Intake & Referrals Coordinator to handle infusion therapy and home health referrals, verify insurance, and enter patient demographics into our system. You will coordinate with Clinical/Care teams and ensure timely referral handoffs.

Schedule is Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–5:00 PM. This role supports patient access, billing processes, and HIPAA-compliant, compassionate care in a team-driven environment.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or Equivalent.
• 2 years experience in health related field.
• Proficient in MS Outlook, Word, Excel.
• Ability to cope with ambiguous environments while under pressure in a calm manner.
• Must work as a team member and develop cooperative relationships with Palmetto Infusion staff.

Responsibilities

• Take Infusion Therapy and Home Health referrals from referral sources.
• Verify insurance and enter patient demographics into the computer system.
• Communicate with other departments regarding status of referrals and notify patients/families about coverage and payment responsibilities.
• Ensure intake forms are complete and within the company's scope of service.
• Verify insurance monthly for new and current cases and maintain knowledge of contracts.
• Assist with infusion and DME referrals and timely referral handoffs to Clinical/Care Manager and Pharmacist.
• Participate in on-call responsibilities when needed.

About the Role:

Responsible for taking Infusion Therapy and Home Health referrals from referral sources. Verifies insurance, enters patient demographics into the computer system, communicates with other departments regarding status of referrals and notifies patients/families regarding coverage and payment responsibilities. Ensures that all intake forms are complete, clear and within the company's scope of service.

Schedule: Monday – Friday; 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM

Minimum Qualifications:

Experience/Education:

• High School Diploma or Equivalent
• 2 years experience in health related field
• Proficient at partner programs (i.e.: MS Outlook, Word, Excel).
• Ability to cope with ambiguous, changing environment while under pressure in a calm
• Must be able to work as a team member and develop productive and cooperative working relationships with all members of the Palmetto Infusion team.

Essential Functions:

• Verification of all new and current cases' insurance every month
• Maintain knowledge of the company's insurance contracts
• Assisting with the in-coming Infusion and DME referrals.
• Speaks knowledgeably regarding reimbursement issues and which insurance companies the companies have active contracts with.
• Ensures that insurance verification Is completed prior to giving the referral to a Clinical/Care manager and/or Pharmacist.
• Ensures that the Clinical/Care Manager and Pharmacist receive the referral in a timely fashion.
• Assists the Clinical/Care Managers with any necessary sub-contracting of services.
• Assists In on-call responsibilities.
