Job summary

McKinley Children's Center in Southern California is seeking an Intake Coordinator to process Mental Health referrals, establish eligibility for treatment, and coordinate case assignments with STRTP administrators. The role requires attention to confidentiality and strong administrative skills across multiple sites.

Responsibilities include managing referrals, assisting with admissions tasks, and maintaining documentation while complying with program policies.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor Degree required, preferably in the Social Sciences
  • 1 Year of Intake experience preferred
  • Knowledge of DMH and DCFS referral process
  • General Office Skills; Excellent Reading and Writing Skills
  • Must pass pre-employment physical exam, TB and drug screening
  • Ability to commute to various sites
  • Ability to lift 10 pounds for filing
  • Ability to Handle File Folders Weighing Up To 5 Pounds

Responsibilities

  • Manage and oversee the administrative office that is directly related to the general referral and intake process of the Mental Health Program with assistance to the STRTP.
  • Directly assists the VP of Mental Health with a variety of admission tasks and coordinates with MH management and administrators.
  • Maintain a high-level of confidentiality.
  • Maintain pertinent documents and records as directed
  • Maintain the flow of referrals, intakes and discharges from MH Department
  • Ensure referrals are processed appropriately to guarantee intake criteria has been met
  • Classify, sort, input and file a variety of records, documents and materials including privileged and sensitive data.
  • Act as a liaison between the MH administrators and outside agencies as directed
  • Use independent judgment and discretion in performing office work that is directly related to the management policies and general business operations of the Mental Health Program
  • Participate in the agency’s Program Quality Improvement plan (PQI) as assigned.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned

The Position:

The purpose of the Intake Coordinator position is to process Mental Health referrals from various sources and to establish/confirm eligibility for treatment. Further, the Intake Coordinator will work with various Mental Health and STRTP administrators to account for case assignments and status of overall treatment cases.

Compensation and Benefits:

The pay range we’re offering is $22-$27an hour depending on experience.
