Job summary

Local Infusion is seeking an Insurance & Intake Coordinator—an Infusion Guide—to coordinate referrals, obtain authorizations, and deliver excellent patient and physician service. The role focuses on ensuring timely access to infusion therapy and accurate insurance processing in a fast-growing practice.

The Infusion Guide will work onsite in Holyoke, MA, with a standard M-F schedule, 8:00 am to 4:30 pm. Prior authorization and medical terminology experience are preferred, along with strong EHR

Qualifications

• Healthcare experience and insurance pre-authorization knowledge.
• Ability to read medical charts and understand clinical terminology.
• Comfort using EHR systems and learning new apps quickly.
• Strong patient- and provider-facing communication and service orientation.

Responsibilities

• Manage infusion referral process, obtain authorizations and benefit investigations.
• Coordinate with referring providers for required documentation and update on patient status.
• Explain referral steps and status to patients clearly and empathetically.
• Communicate with referring/prescribing providers about progress and needs.
• Assist with medical inventory and office supplies; participate in a 6-week training plan.

The Role

We’re looking for an Insurance & Intake Coordinator -- an "Infusion Guide" -- who is passionate about raising the bar in infusion therapy care.

The Infusion Guide will contribute to the company’s growth through detailed referral and intake coordination along with excellent customer and physician customer service. The Infusion Guide will make sure our patients receive the highest level of care possible in infusion therapy.

This is a Full-Time position that will be located onsite, at our Local Infusion center in Holyoke, MA with a schedule of M-F, 8:00am - 4:30pm. The ideal candidate will have prior experience reading medical charts and working on insurance pre-authorizations. The Infusion Guide role is perfect for those wishing to remain at the forefront of healthcare innovation, while having predictable hours, autonomy, and a manageable workload.

• Salary starting at $25/hr + quarterly bonus based on metrics & full benefits

In this role, you will:

• Handle all aspects of the infusion referral process; obtaining authorizations, financial counseling, benefit investigation
• Liaison with referring providers to obtain documentation necessary for treatment, and communicate status of their patients
• Communicate referral process and status to patients in a customer-centric way
• Openly communicate with referring/prescribing providers
• Assist in maintaining medical inventory and office supplies
• Dedicated 6 week training plan to help you succeed in your role
