Job summary

Westchester Jewish Community Services (WJCS) in Peekskill, NY, is seeking a full-time Intake Clinician to serve as the first clinical contact for individuals entering services. The role focuses on completing intake and assessment in a warm, trauma-informed, efficient manner, ensuring clients are welcomed and connected to care promptly.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Provide scheduled and rapid intake evaluations for new clients.
• Assess safety risks and develop initial service recommendations.
• Develop care plans and facilitate warm handoffs to ongoing providers.
• Maintain accurate documentation in the electronic health record and collaborate with care teams.
• Complete 5 to 7 initial/continuation evaluations daily.

Overview

Westchester Jewish Community Services (WJCS) is an award-winning nonprofit, nonsectarian human services organization founded in 1943. Today, it has grown to be the largest provider of licensed outpatient community behavioral health services and one of the largest human service agencies in Westchester County. WJCS delivers innovative programs and services and compassionate care to more than 20,000 people of all ages and backgrounds throughout the county.

We are currently seeking a full-time Intake Clinician to join our team in Peekskill. In this role, you will be responsible for serving as the first clinical point of contact for individuals entering services. This role focuses exclusively on completing intake and assessment processes in a warm, trauma-informed, and efficient manner. The Intake Clinician ensures clients are welcomed, engaged, and connected to care as quickly as possible. This is a fully in-person role - Monday-Friday, 9 AM - 5 PM.

The salary for this full-time position is $80,000, plus a $5,000 differential for bilingual (English/Spanish) fluency. In addition, there are opportunties to earn supplemental income.

Responsibilities

As a valued member of our team, your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

• Provide scheduled and rapid access same-day intake evaluations.
• Assess safety risks and respond appropriately.
• Develop initial service recommendations and care plans.
• Facilitate warm handoffs to ongoing providers.
• Maintain accurate, timely documentation in the electronic medical record.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary care teams.
• Complete 5 to 7 services daily comprised of initial and continuing evaluation appointments.

Requirements

We are seeking candidates who possess the following qualifications:

• Master's Degree in Social Work or Mental Health Counseling.
• NYS licensure (LCSW, LMHC) required.
• Experience conducting behavioral health assessments.
• Strong engagement, and written and verbal communication skills.
• Proficiency with computer skills and electronic health records.
• Ability to work effectively with diverse, multicultural populations.
