Job description

Atticor is an AI-powered legal services platform redefining how lawyers deliver justice to injured people.

Great lawyers serve their clients best when they can focus on legal practice, not on troubleshooting their case management system, tracking medical records, dealing with accounting headaches, or managing marketing campaigns. Atticor handles the complex machinery of the modern legal business, liberating top-tier lawyers to do what they do best: practice law.

Atticor was built by legal entrepreneurs who revolutionized mass claims litigation at scale and built technology and operational infrastructure that has served over 1.5 million clients and generated over $3 billion in gross recoveries, comprising a Case Acquisition Engine, Decision Infrastructure, Agentic AI Workflow & Operations, and an Institutional-Grade Backbone.

Position Summary

Atticor is seeking an experienced Intake Attorney to provide legal guidance, case evaluation, and support to our intake team. This position plays an important role in evaluating potential cases that require attorney review, assisting with client escalations, and ensuring that intake decisions align with the criteria and expectations of the law firms we support.

The Intake Attorney will work closely with intake agents and management to provide guidance, answer legal questions, identify potential issues, and assist in the continued training and development of the intake team. The ideal candidate will have strong legal judgment, excellent communication skills, and the ability to make timely, informed decisions in a fast-paced environment.

This is a full-time remote position. Candidates must be wiling to work Monday – Friday from 9am – 6pm PST. Compensation for this position depends on experience and includes an annual base salary of $100,000 to $120,000 per year, a discretionary year-end performance-based bonus, and benefits.

Key Responsibilities

  • Evaluate legal issues involving liability, comparative fault, insurance coverage, damages, jurisdiction, and other factors affecting case viability.
  • Identify potential concerns involving disputed liability, insufficient coverage, minimal damages, statute of limitations, or other legal issues.
  • Determine whether cases should be accepted, declined, referred, or returned for additional information.
  • Review available intake notes, recorded calls, documents, and other relevant information to make informed decisions.
  • Document attorney decisions and the reasoning behind them in the case management system.
  • Identify recurring issues with case qualification and provide recommendations for improvement.
Client Communication and Escalations
  • Handle escalated client concerns and situations requiring attorney involvement.
  • Speak directly with prospective clients to answer legal questions, address concerns, and provide clarification regarding their potential claims.

  • Communicate professionally and compassionately with prospective clients, including those whose cases do not meet acceptance criteria.
  • Assist intake agents in navigating difficult client interactions or situations requiring additional legal guidance.

  • Assist with training and educating intake agents on legal concepts, case evaluation, and the identification of potential issues.
  • Provide constructive feedback to improve agents’ understanding of case criteria and overall intake quality.
  • Help ensure that agents recognize when attorney involvement is necessary and understand the boundaries of providing legal information versus legal advice.
Collaboration and Process Improvement
  • Work closely with intake management to promote consistency and accuracy in case evaluation and decision-making.
  • Identify trends in declined cases, case quality, and recurring intake issues.
  • Assist management in developing and refining intake procedures, training materials, and case acceptance guidelines.
