Job summary

Moaddel Law Firm, A.P.C. seeks an experienced Intake Attorney to be the first contact for prospective clients in our Immigration practice. You will evaluate case viability, guide individuals through complex immigration matters, and ensure high-quality intake processes while collaborating with BD, Legal, and Support teams. This role has no case load.

Hybrid or remote work (PST); 40 hours/week; exEmp.

Qualifications

• Juris Doctor and active bar license required.
• Bilingual English and Spanish.
• 3–5 years of Immigration Law experience, including litigation.
• Experience with Family Based Petitions, Humanitarian, EOIR removal defense, Citizenship, and USCIS applications.
• Criminal law experience a plus.
• Skilled at conducting legal consultations, intake reviews, or case evaluations.

Responsibilities

• Supervise the Business Development team's legal strategy to ensure intake information and retainer agreements follow firm protocols.
• Conduct strategic legal consultations and case evaluations in person, via virtual platforms or phone.
• Advise on immigration options including removal defense and family-based petitions.
• Review consultations, intake forms, and supporting documents to assess case viability.
• Assess eligibility and recommend appropriate legal pathways.
• Communicate case details and recommendations to Case Consultants.
• Explain complex immigration concepts and viable legal strategies clearly.
• Review immigration filings and application packets for accuracy and legal sufficiency.
• Develop case strategy and prepare clients and witnesses for court and USCIS interviews.
• Conduct legal research and case analysis to identify benefits, relief options, and risks.
• Draft, review, and submit legal briefs on immigration matters.
• Partner with the training team to enhance legal and provide subject matter training content.
• Collaborate with leadership to improve processes, client experience, and operational efficiency

The Opportunity

We are seeking an experienced Intake Attorney to serve as the first point of contact for prospective clients within our Immigration practice. This role is critical in evaluating case viability, guiding individuals through complex immigration matters, and ensuring high-quality, compliant intake processes. You will oversee legal strategy within the intake function and work closely with Business Development, Legal, and Support teams to uphold the firm's standards while driving revenue performance. As an intake attorney you will not have a case load.

Work Setup

• Hybrid or Remote role (PST) firm HQ is LA.
• Full time, Exempt.
• 40 hours per week.
• Weekdays schedule with flexibility for weekends.

What We're Looking For

• Juris Doctor and active bar license in good standing.
• Must be Bilingual English and Spanish.
• 3 to 5 years of Immigration Law experience, including litigation.
• Experience with Family Based Petitions, Humanitarian, EOIR removal defense, Citizenship, and USCIS applications.
• Prior criminal law experience is a plus.
• Skilled at conducting legal consultations, intake reviews, or case evaluations.
• Strong legal analysis, issue-spotting, and decision-making skills.
• Proficiency with CRM, case management software (CLIO), and virtual communication tools.
• Strong client focus and interpersonal skills.
• Experience working in a KPI driven environment.
• Proven ability to contribute to revenue growth.
• Supervisory experience preferred.

Compensation, Benefits & Equal Employment Opportunity

Moaddel Law Firm offers a competitive base salary of $85,000 - $125,000 DOE and Performance Bonuses. We provide medical insurance with a 50 percent employer contribution, dental and vision insurance, uncapped PTO, a retirement plan, and reimbursement of annual bar fees.
