Three Trails Behavioral Hospital in Independence, MO is hiring a PRN Admissions and Intake Registered Nurse (RN) to join our Intake and Admissions team. This role focuses on timely behavioral healthcare access and high-quality clinical assessments for admissions decisions.

The RN may also assist with units and lead groups as needed, coordinating with physicians and staff to ensure all information is obtained for admissions decisions. This is a PRN role in a dynamic clinical environment.

Responsibilities

Three Trails Behavioral Hospital in Independence, MO is actively hiring a PRN Admissions and Intake Registered Nurse (RN). We are seeking a compassionate, clinically skilled RN to join our Intake and Admissions team. This role is critical in helping individuals and families access timely behavioral healthcare services while ensuring high‑quality clinical assessment and admissions decisions. The RN may also help with units and lead groups as needed.

The admissions and intake RN will:

• Conduct comprehensive assessments
• Evaluate patients for appropriate levels of care and admissions criteria
• Perform crisis intervention and risk assessments
• Coordinate and collaborate with physicians and other staff for all necessary information

Three Trails Behavioral Hospital Will:

• Serve children, adolescents, adults and seniors with innovative and evidence‑based inpatient behavioral healthcare focused on individual needs and comfort
• Create more than 200 new, full‑time jobs including nurses, clinicians, therapists, technicians and administrative staff when the facility is fully operational
• Be located at the intersection of I-70 and Little Blue Parkway, adjacent to Children’s Mercy Hospital Outpatient Clinics
• Feature 120 licensed beds
• Span more than 88,000 square feet and include an activity yard and gym

Qualifications

• Registered Nurse (RN) licensure in the state of Missouri or compatible compact
• Experience in behavioral health, assessments, crisis intervention, and admissions preferred
• Strong assessment, critical thinking, and clinical decision‑making skills
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work in a fast‑paced environment
• Ability to work 12‑hour shifts
• Availability for evening, overnight, and weekend coverage
