Job summary

Baptist Hospitals of Southeast Texas in Beaumont, TX is seeking an Insurance Verification / Scheduler for day shifts to join our Patient Access team.

You will verify insurance, pre-register patients for services, communicate financial responsibility, collect upfront payments when required, and schedule tests and surgeries in a timely fashion while coordinating with physicians and patients for smooth service execution.

Qualifications

• Verifying insurance information against orders and demographics.
• Pre-registering patients for services to ensure accuracy.
• Communicating financial responsibility and collecting upfront payments when required.
• Knowledge of medical terminology to validate codes and service requirements.
• Assist in other Patient Access areas as needed by management.

Responsibilities

• Receives orders from physician offices and confirms patient demographics are complete and accurate.
• Verifies insurance coverage for ordered services and determines patient financial responsibility.
• Obtains any necessary authorizations and ensures on-file documents are complete and current.
• Enters data accurately into HIS and related software; maintains queue accuracy and resolves errors.
• Communicates issues regarding verification, scheduling, or finances to supervisor; responds promptly to emails during business hours.
