Job summary

Farmers District 40 in Fremont, MI seeks an Agent in Training to learn the ins and outs of a high-performing insurance agency while building a production pipeline. You will work from a full-time, Monday–Friday schedule, using agency-provided leads and your own prospecting efforts to quote and sell insurance products.

You will also gain exposure to agency operations, leadership development, and business planning as you progress toward leadership opportunities within the district.

Qualifications

  • Previous sales or customer-facing experience preferred.
  • Interest in leadership and business development.
  • Willingness to obtain a Property & Casualty license

Responsibilities

  • Approximately 75% of the role focuses on sales and production, including: handling agency-provided leads, building a pipeline, making outbound calls, quoting and selling insurance products, cross-selling, building referral relationships, and meeting sales targets.
  • The remaining 25% focuses on learning the business behind the sales: agency operations, leadership and performance management, hiring and team development, marketing and lead acquisition, budgeting and financial management, profitability planning, client retention, technology, compliance, and risk management.
  • Work alongside an experienced agency leader to gain exposure to the financial and operational side of an established agency.
  • This role is designed to develop into a future business leader with mentorship from top performers.
