Farm Family seeks a Product Consultant to guide the development and delivery of strategic product initiatives within Property & Casualty insurance. The role leads large-scale projects, manages vendor relationships, and partners with Agile teams to achieve business outcomes.

The ideal candidate combines strong product acumen with leadership and collaboration, translating strategy into executable solutions while ensuring regulatory alignment and stakeholder buy-in.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Insurance, or related field.
  • 4+ years of experience in insurance (P&C preferred), product management, or consulting.
  • Demonstrated experience leading large-scale, cross-functional initiatives.
  • Strong understanding of Agile methodologies and product delivery frameworks.
  • Experience building and maintaining effective partnerships with third-party vendors and external business partners.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the planning and execution of large-scale product initiatives aligned with organizational goals and customer needs.
  • Translate strategic objectives to influence product roadmaps, features, and deliverables.
  • Partner with leadership to identify opportunities for product innovation, operational efficiency, and market differentiation.
  • Ensure alignment between product vision, regulatory requirements, and business priorities.
  • Act as a liaison between business stakeholders and Agile delivery teams (Scrum/SAFe).
  • Define and refine product requirements, user stories, and acceptance criteria.
  • Participate in Agile ceremonies including sprint planning, backlog grooming, demos, and retrospectives.
  • Support prioritization of the product backlog to maximize value delivery and align with strategic objectives.
  • Develop understanding of data and reporting functions to support decision-making.
  • Provide guidance to development teams to ensure solutions meet expectations.
  • Manage end-to-end execution of complex, cross-functional initiatives with multiple stakeholders.
  • Coordinate across business units, IT, underwriting, claims, and operations for seamless delivery.
  • Identify risks, dependencies, and constraints; drive resolution.
  • Track progress against milestones, budgets, and timelines; report to leadership.
  • Oversee relationships with external vendors; manage contracts and performance.
  • Ensure vendor solutions align with architecture, compliance, and business needs.
  • Serve as a trusted advisor to internal stakeholders across product, IT, actuarial, underwriting, and operations.
  • Communicate complex concepts clearly to technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Facilitate data-driven decision-making with trade-off analysis and recommendations.
  • Drive alignment across competing priorities and stakeholder perspectives.
  • Participate in Regional Strategy Team discussions to align roadmaps with regional needs.

The Product Consultant plays a key role in driving the development and delivery of strategic product initiatives within the Property & Casualty (P&C) insurance space. This role focuses on leading complex, large-scale projects, managing third-party vendor relationships, and partnering closely with Agile teams to deliver high-impact business outcomes. The ideal candidate combines strong product acumen, project leadership, and cross-functional collaboration skills to translate business strategy into executable product solutions.

This is a 100% in-office position. Candidates must be able to work on-site at a designated company office during standard business hours.

  • Lead the planning and execution of large-scale product initiatives aligned with organizational goals and customer needs

Experience Preferred

  • Experience working in P&C insurance products (e.g., policy administration, claims, billing, underwriting)

The base salary range provided below is for hires in those geographic areas only and will be commensurate with candidate experience. Pay ranges for candidates in other locations may differ based on the cost of labor in that location. In addition to base salary, this position is eligible for an annual bonus based on company and individual performance as well as a generous benefits package.

Albany and Chicago Pay Range: $96k - $120k
