Job summary

Alexander & Schmidt is seeking an Insurance Loss Control Field Representative to perform on-site inspections of commercial properties and casualty risks, and to prepare reports for underwriting.

This role requires travel within a 60-mile radius, strong writing and communication skills, and the ability to upload reports via web-based systems.

Professional CSP, OHST, ALCM and ARM certifications are preferred but not required. The position supports underwriting with loss control insights.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years’ experience with a commercial carrier or as an independent contractor providing commercial insurance loss control services.
• Understanding of commercial property and casualty lines including property, general liability, auto and workers compensation.
• Solid communication skills—including exceptional writing ability, organizational skills, and computer skills.
• Travel within a 60 mile radius.

Responsibilities

• On-site inspections of property, general liability, and incidental auto.
• Prepare underwriting reports for commercial insurance underwriting purposes.
• Upload completed reports, photos and diagrams via a website or web-based system.
• Contribute to loss control surveys guiding underwriters in risk selection.

Insurance companies use the reports to properly insure commercial or residential buildings or properties for a new policy or renewal of a current policy.

Required Skills

• MUST HAVE 3 – 5 years’ experience with a commercial carrier or working as an independent contractor providing commercial insurance loss control services.
• Understanding of commercial property and casualty lines including property, general liability, auto and workers compensation.
• Solid communication skills—including exceptional writing ability, organizational skills, and computer skills
• Travel within a reasonable territory, 60 mile radius
• Professional certifications CSP, OHST, ALCM and/or ARM are preferred, but not required.
• Uploading completed reports, photos and diagrams through a special website or complete reports on web based systems
