Job summary

Travelers is seeking a Counsel to manage a caseload of low to moderate complexity from inception through trial and appeal. You will conduct research, draft pleadings, attend court events, and provide strategic advice to insured clients and claim partners.

The role emphasizes client service, collaboration, and effective use of technology. The ideal candidate has 3+ years of insurance defense litigation experience, strong writing and advocacy skills, and an active license to practice law.

Qualifications

• Juris Doctorate or equivalent international law degree; graduate of an accredited law school.
• Active license to practice law in the required state(s).
• 2 years of experience as a practicing attorney with insurance defense exposure.

Responsibilities

• Develop and apply litigation skills to try cases to verdict or negotiate resolution.
• Conduct legal research and provide persuasive writing and presentation of matters.
• Draft pleadings, motions, briefs, discovery and other documents.
• Attend court events, depositions, and appointments independently.
• Provide case analysis and recommendations to insured clients and claim partners.
• Build and maintain strong client and partner relationships.
