Job summary

Jobot is seeking a Mid-Level Insurance Defense Associate Attorney in West Palm Beach, FL. The role offers a hybrid work model and a permanent position, with compensation ranging from $130,000 to $160,000 per year.

Ideal candidates have 3–5 years of litigation experience and a solid civil-defense foundation. You will independently manage active litigation dockets, develop defense strategies, draft motions and pleadings, take depositions, and collaborate with trial teams toward ownership of files

Qualifications

• 3–5 years of litigation experience.
• Active Florida Bar admission.
• Insurance defense, general liability or related civil-defense experience preferred.
• Meaningful deposition experience.
• Strong motion and discovery practice.
• Experience independently managing matters and deadlines.
• Prior exposure to trial preparation, hearings or mediations.
• Strong writing and client-facing skills.
• Experience in premises liability, auto/trucking, construction defect, medical malpractice, professional liability or catastrophic injury defense is particularly relevant.

Responsibilities

• Independently manage an active litigation caseload.
• Develop defense strategy from initial investigation through resolution.
• Draft substantive motions, pleadings and discovery.
• Take and defend depositions.
• Handle hearings and mediations.
• Work with experts.
• Evaluate liability and damages.
• Communicate with carriers, insureds and corporate clients.
• Prepare matters for trial.
• Work with experienced trial attorneys and gradually own more files.
