Job summary

The Houston office of Lewis Brisbois is actively seeking an attorney to join its Insurance Coverage Practice. The ideal candidate should have eight to fifteen years of experience analyzing insurance coverage and preparing coverage opinions for first party property and general liability matters.

The role requires litigation experience, including taking depositions, attending court hearings, and drafting and arguing motions, along with strong research and writing skills.

Qualifications

• Eight to fifteen years of experience analyzing insurance coverage and drafting coverage opinions for first party property and general liability.
• Litigation experience including depositions, court appearances, and drafting/arguing motions.
• Strong research and writing skills required.
• Admission to the Texas Bar required.

Responsibilities

• Interpret contracts to advise insurers and represent them in complex coverage claims.
• Monitor, mediate, arbitrate, and pursue declaratory relief in state and federal courts.
• Represent primary and excess insurers, reinsurers, and related entities.

The ideal candidate will have at least eight (8) to fifteen (15) years of experience analyzing insurance coverage and preparing coverage opinions regarding first party property and general liability matters. The candidate will have litigation experience, including taking depositions, attending court hearing, and drafting and arguing motions, Strong research and writing skills are required. Admission to the Texas Bar is required.
