Job summary

PCI Services, LLC is seeking an insulator helper to apply insulating materials and coatings to pipes, vessels, tanks, and ductwork at various sites. You will read blueprints, measure insulation needs, and prepare surfaces for application while complying with safety procedures.

The role requires basic math skills, physical stamina, and the ability to lift up to 40 pounds. On-the-job training is provided, and the position is safety-sensitive and outdoors.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year of insulation experience.
• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Ability to perform basic math.
• Able to stand for long periods and work outdoors.
• Physically able to perform assigned tasks and lift up to 40 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Apply insulating materials and surface claddings and coating to pipes, vessels, tanks, ductwork and associated equipment.
• Cover, seal or finish insulated surfaces or access holes with plastic covers, canvas strips, sealants, tape, cement or asphalt mastic.
• Determine the amount, types and method of insulation needed.
• Fit and shape insulating materials.
• Measure and cut insulation using tape measures, handsaws, knives and scissors.
• Use tools to install insulation such as pin snips, cutting shears, knives, channel locks, etc.
• Read blueprints and specifics to determine job specifications.
• Prepare surfaces for insulation application.
• Load and unload materials.
• Stage materials in proper site areas.
• Observe and comply with all safety process and procedures.
• On‑the‑job training offered. This position is safety-sensitive.
