Job summary

ht h companies is seeking an Insulation Laborer in the Midwest to install, repair, and remove insulation on piping, ductwork, and equipment, and to fabricate removable insulation blankets. You will work with a sheet metal worker to select materials and assemble scaffolding, ladders, and handrails at sites.

The ideal candidate will have basic verbal/written communication, interpersonal skills, organizational skills, and a commitment to safety; must lift up to 75 lbs, climb ladders, and thrive in

• Fastens insulation in place with tape, screws, wire, or banding, as needed.
• Employees are expected to bring necessary tools to jobsite.
• Will be trained on how to cut, bend, and shape sheet metal to required dimensions.
• Actively champions a positive workplace and safety culture.
• Performs various other duties and functions as required or assigned.

Position Overview

The Insulation laborer will install, repair, and/or remove insulation on piping, ductwork, industrial equipment, and other surfaces. They will also fabricate and install removable insulation blankets. The Insulation laborer will work with a sheet metal worker who will help select the type and size or insulation and related materials to be used according to project requirements. They will also be required to assemble and dismantle tubular and system scaffolding or other temporary structures, installing ladders, walkways and handrails at sites using a variety of tools and lifts. They are responsible for cleaning and preparing sites, including removing debris and loading/unloading scaffolding material.

Physical Abilities

• Ability to lift, push, pull and move up to 75 lbs. on a routine basis.

• Ability to observe conditions and others as safety attendant staying alert while seated for long periods of time as needed.
• Ability to use hand tools, power tools, and other tools and equipment in a safe and controlled manner.
• Ability to perform inspections of site, tools, and equipment.
• Ability to perform behavioral observations focused on safety and process improvement.
• Ability to follow safety protocol and to report any incident, unsafe act, or unsafe condition immediately to the site supervisor and safety manager.

Training

• Must provide proof of successful completion of OSHA 10 hour within 60 days of starting at hth companies.
