Job summary

Installed Building Products is hiring a full-time insulation installer in Northwood, OH. You’ll start early at the shop or jobsite, load materials, check safety, and install insulation in walls, ceilings, attics, and crawlspaces.

You’ll work with a small crew led by a foreman, following safety procedures and using hand tools and ladders as needed. Training provided for qualified applicants willing to learn.

Qualifications

• Reliable transportation to work sites and shop.
• Comfortable using hand tools and basic equipment.
• Able to lift up to 50 lbs and work in confined spaces.
• Willing to learn; training provided for the right candidate.
• Valid driver’s license required for transporting equipment between sites.

Responsibilities

• Load and track materials on trucks.
• Set up ladders or scaffolding for access.
• Cut and install insulation for walls, ceilings, attics, crawlspaces.
• Staple, glue, nail, wire, or run equipment for insulation installation.
• Drive a company vehicle when needed and keep it clean.
• Follow all job site safety procedures.

Pay Range

$17.00-$22.00 an hour, depending on experience.

What Your Day Looks Like

You’ll start early, either meeting at the shop or heading directly to the jobsite. After loading materials and completing a quick safety check, the crew gets to work. You’ll install insulation in walls, ceilings, attics, and crawlspaces. You’ll be working in a variety of conditions, depending on the job site and season, with safety procedures and proper equipment in place. You’ll work until the job is done and then head home.

Who You’ll Work With

You’ll be part of a small crew led by an experienced foreman. Team members look out for one another, work safely, and take pride in doing the job right. If you show up on time, follow safety guidelines, and are willing to learn, you’ll feel supported and welcomed.

What You’ll Be Doing

• Load and track materials on trucks
• Set up ladders or scaffolding
• Cut and install insulation to fit walls, ceilings, attics, and crawlspaces
• Staple, glue, nail, wire, or run equipment for loose-fill or foam insulation
• Drive a company vehicle when needed and keep it clean
• Follow all job site safety procedures

What We’re Looking For

• Reliable transportation
• Construction or installation experience is a plus (we will train the right person)
• Comfortable using hand tools
• Able to work in tight spaces and at heights
• Able to lift 50 lbs
• Able to bend, climb, kneel, and stand for long periods
• Bilingual is a plus, not required
• A valid driver’s license is required for tasks involving the transportation of equipment or travel between sites

The Physical Side (So You Know What To Expect)

Includes lifting and carrying heavy materials (up to 50 lbs), bending, squatting, and climbing ladders. The role requires working in confined spaces, crawling, and reaching overhead. Manual dexterity is needed for using hand and power tools. An insulation installer must also be able to work in various environmental conditions, including extreme temperatures, while adhering to safety standards.
