Job summary

Roush is seeking an Instrumentation Technician II in Dearborn, MI. The role focuses on installing and calibrating instrumentation in development vehicles, building wiring harnesses, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure accurate sensor placement and measurement integrity.

Ideal candidates have 4+ years of instrumentation experience, proficiency in soldering/crimping, and strong attention to detail, with the ability to follow detailed procedures and QA processes.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum of 4 years of experience as an Instrumentation Technician.
• Experience soldering, crimping, tube bending, component layout and packaging on vehicles or subsystems.
• Able to follow procedures/work instructions from project documents (shop manuals, diagrams).
• Good organizational skills; works well independently and in a team.
• Strong communication and time management skills.
• Attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Install test equipment in development vehicles (thermocouples, sensors, fiber optics, accelerometers, strain gauges, DAQ systems).
• Build/modify/ calibrate installed devices and low voltage wiring harnesses per drawings.
• Collaborate with Customers, Fabricators, and Mechanics to place sensors per IRL.
• Perform functional inspections and IQA validation.
• Diagnose and repair faulty wiring systems.
• Use test/electrical tools (power supplies, function generators, multimeter).
• Maintain inspection records in service repair requests.
• Keep shop equipment and area clean; assist with daily organization.
