Job summary

Fairfax County's Wastewater Management, Instrumentation Maintenance Branch, at the Noman M. Cole Jr Water Recycling Facility in Lorton, VA, seeks an Instrumentation Technician I to perform preventive maintenance and repairs on instrumentation and electronic equipment.

The role requires a high school diploma or GED, electronics training, and at least one year of related experience; a valid driver's license and Confined Space Certification within six months are required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED; electronics vocational course completed.
• At least one year of experience installing, maintaining and repairing industrial instrumentation or electronic equipment in water utilities.
• Valid driver's license.
• Confined Space Certification within 6 months of hire.

Responsibilities

• Assist in preventive maintenance and repair of instrumentation and electronic equipment.
• Read manuals or drawings and perform repairs from them.
• Work independently on less technical instrumentation in I&E field.
• Document work in a computer-based work order system and order parts.
• Assist in maintaining the continuous emission monitoring system.
• Assist in calibration of sensor and alarm systems.
