Job summary

Control Panels USA, located in Georgetown, TX, seeks an Instrumentation Specialist to join our team as the SME on instrumentation. You will review specifications and contract drawings to select instrumentation and accessories, create datasheets, calibration reports, and installation/certification documentation per contract specifications for O&M.

This role is based at our Georgetown, TX office. You will lead instrumentation engineering deliverables, interpret diagrams, review submittals, and

• 2+ years of instrumentation experience
• Experience with instrument specifications and data sheet creation
• Experience with field instrument installation requirements
• Experience with P&ID’s
• Understanding of instrument operation terms and safety considerations

Responsibilities

• Act as SME for instrumentation selection and analysis for external and internal clients
• Lead instrumentation engineering deliverables: Instrument Index, Data Sheets, Installation Details, Location Plans; review wiring and loop diagrams
• Interpret and check instrumentation diagrams, vendor drawings, specifications and schematics
• Review submittals, relevant documents, testing results and drawings
• Calibrate and document purchased equipment prior to commissioning; provide start-up support
• Support vendor relationships and manage projects as requested by management

Control Panels USA is seeking an Instrumentation Specialist to join our growing team in Georgetown, Tx

This role will be the SME on instrumentation for CP USA and will be responsible for reviewing specifications & contract drawings to select appropriate instrumentation, accessories to fit project applications. Creating datasheets, calibration reports, assembly, installation, testing & certifying installation per contract specifications & creating any final reports needed for O&M. This role will be located at our Georgetown, Tx office.

Our regular work schedule is M-F 8AM-4:30PM.

Duties & Responsibilities

• Act as the subject matter expert for external and internal clients on instrumentation selection and analysis.
• Lead and prepare instrumentation engineering/design deliverables, including Instrument Index, Instrument Data Sheets, Instrument Installation Details, Instrument Location Plans, reviewing Wiring Diagrams, and Loop Diagrams.
• Interpret and check varied instrumentation and engineering diagrams, vendor supplied drawings, specifications, and schematics.
• Review submittals, any relevant documents, testing results and applicable drawings or specifications.
• Performs calibration & documentation of purchased equipment prior to commissioning and provide start-up support.
• Responsible for applying knowledge of commonly used I&C engineering/design concepts, principles, practices, codes, and procedures within the engineering services industry
• Work with purchasing managing vendor relationships, attaining vendor quotes and best pricing.
• Any other task, assignments, duty, or projects, as requested by management

Desired Skills & Experience:

• 2+ years of experience in relative Instrumentation experience
• Experience with Instrument Specifications and Data Sheet Creation
• Experience with Field Instrument Installation Requirements
• Experience with P&ID’s
• Wide knowledge of multiple models and manufactures of instrumentation, including temperature, pressure, flow, and analytical instrumentation such as turbidity, chlorine, pH, DO, etc.
• Understand the principles of operations, terminology, safety considerations, and applications for standard analytical instruments
• Excellent planning, organization, and follow-through skills
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Proactive and creative problem-solving skills and ability to evaluate options, analyze complex problems, and present possible solutions in a simple, easily understood manner
• Demonstrated ability to prioritize and complete multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
• Detail oriented
• Ability to handle multiple projects and deadlines
• Excellent customer service skills
• Demonstrated ability to maintain a positive, professional attitude
• Technically savvy, comfortable navigating Microsoft office programs
• Experience with control panel electrical wiring a plus
• IT networking experience a plus
• Knowledge of networks and basic electronic troubleshooting skills are a plus
• Travel requirements of up to 20%

Physical Requirements:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk, hear, use hands and fingers, reach with hands and arms, sit and stand. The employee will occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
