Job summary

American Refining Group, Inc. is hiring an Instrumentation Tech Journeyman I to install, calibrate, monitor, and maintain refinery control instrumentation.

The role supports converting pneumatic systems to computerized controls and to assist in testing environmental monitoring equipment and analytical devices. The position requires strong troubleshooting, teamwork, and the ability to follow safety guidelines in a high-stakes industrial setting.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED with relevant associate’s degree in Instrumentation, Electrical or Mechatronics Technology.
• 2–4 years refinery maintenance or process operating experience preferred.
• Proficient in Windows-based programs and engineering drawings.

Responsibilities

• Install, calibrate, monitor and maintain control instrumentation and electronic control systems.
• Convert pneumatic control systems to computerized control systems refinery-wide.
• Program scheduled testing and calibration of environmental monitoring equipment and on-stream analytical devices.
• Maintain and update electrical and instrumentation prints using AutoCad.
• Operate forklift for handling oversized parts or equipment when needed.
