This hands-on role spans mechanical design, electronics, firmware, software, prototyping, testing, and manufacturing support, and offers the chance to move products from concept through commercialization in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Biomedical, Electrical, CS, or related field.
  • 1–5 years of medical device product development or related engineering experience.
  • Experience building benchtop test systems, fixtures, tooling, or engineering support equipment.
  • Experience creating engineering documentation including test protocols, reports, and design verification documentation.
  • Startup experience preferred.
  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as a technical resource across a wide range of engineering tools and activities within the R&D environment.
  • Support ongoing product development and manufacturing initiatives through fixture design, process improvements, and testing optimization.
  • Design, build, and maintain benchtop testing systems, fixtures, tooling, and engineering support equipment.
  • Participate in prototyping, testing, verification, and validation to ensure safety, reliability, and performance.
  • Work cross-functionally with Engineering, Quality, Regulatory, Manufacturing, and Clinical teams throughout the product lifecycle.
  • Support the design and refinement of medical devices from concept through production.
  • Contribute to mechanical design, electronics development, firmware/software development, and tooling improvements.

Responsibilities:

  • Serve as a technical resource across a wide range of engineering tools, equipment, and development activities within the R&D environment.
  • Support ongoing product development and manufacturing initiatives through fixture design, process improvements, and testing optimization.
  • Design, build, and maintain benchtop testing systems, manufacturing fixtures, tooling, and engineering support equipment.
  • Participate in product prototyping, testing, verification, and validation activities to ensure safety, reliability, and performance.
  • Work cross-functionally with Engineering, Quality, Regulatory, Manufacturing, and Clinical teams throughout the product lifecycle.
  • Support the design and refinement of medical devices from concept through production.
  • Contribute to mechanical design, electronics development, firmware/software development, and manufacturing process improvements as needed.
  • Create and maintain engineering documentation including test protocols, test reports, design verification documentation, and technical records.
  • Act as a liaison between engineering, quality, regulatory, and clinical teams to support development and commercialization objectives.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or related technical discipline.
  • 1–5 years of engineering experience within medical devices, product development, manufacturing, or related technical environments.
  • Experience developing benchtop test systems, manufacturing fixtures, tooling, or engineering support equipment.
  • Experience creating engineering documentation including test protocols, reports, and design verification documentation.
  • Startup experience preferred.
  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.

Demonstrated proficiency in at least two of the following technical disciplines:

  • Mechanical design and prototyping including SolidWorks, 3D printing, and rapid prototyping technologies.
  • Firmware and software development using C, C++, Python, or related languages.
  • Electrical design, PCB layout, schematic capture, and circuit debugging.
  • Manufacturing process optimization, tooling, fixture design, and process improvement.
