Job summary

Cinder Residuals Texas is seeking a motivated and dependable Instrumentation & Electrical (I&E) Apprentice to support our maintenance team at our Fairfield, TX facility. This entry-level role offers hands-on training in industrial electrical and controls work while learning on the job.

You will assist with installation, calibration, and troubleshooting of control systems, instrumentation, and electrical equipment under supervision, while following safety procedures and documenting activities.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Enrollment in or completion of a trade school, technical program, or military training is a plus in electrical, instrumentation, or controls.
• Basic mechanical or electrical aptitude and willingness to learn.
• Ability to work safely in a team and communicate clearly.
• Valid driver’s license required.

Responsibilities

• Assist I&E Technicians with installation, maintenance, and repair of control systems and electrical equipment.
• Calibrate and test basic instruments such as pressure, temperature, and flow sensors.
• Troubleshoot control system components and wiring under supervision.
• Follow safety procedures in an industrial environment.
• Document maintenance activities and complete work orders.
• Read wiring diagrams, schematics, and control logic.
• Maintain tools and shop organization; assist with equipment prep and cleanup.
• Take directions from senior technicians during on-the-job training.
• Support other Site Operations as needed by the Supervisor or Plant Manager.

Physical Demands & Work Environment

• Work is performed in an industrial facility, including time in control areas and field conditions with exposure to noise, dust, heat, outdoor elements, and operational hazards
• May involve standing or sitting for extended periods, bending, climbing, using hand tools, and working around heavy equipment or machinery
• Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs., work at heights or in confined spaces, and perform physically demanding tasks
• Use of communication devices or computer systems may be required, depending on job function
• PPE must be worn and all safety protocols followed
