Job summary

Canadian Breaks Consulting LLC seeks an Instrumentation & I&C Superintendent – Senior Consultant for a fully onsite role in Childress, TX. Lead coordination with sub-contractors, supervise field teams, and ensure schedule and safety adherence on complex I&C projects.

The role requires extensive experience in instrumentation, controls construction, and building automation readiness. Onsite availability, strong collaboration, and problem-solving are essential to success.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of instrumentation and controls construction experience on industrial projects.
• High school diploma or GED required.
• Ability to work fully onsite in Childress, TX and pass a pre-employment drug/alcohol screen.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate day-to-day activities with other superintendents, I&C subcontractors, and other discipline subcontractors.
• Supervise multiple subcontractors and craft employees.
• Maintain and adjust the project schedule daily.
• Manage RFIs and submittal materials for review with the client and architect.
• Manage and enforce safety protocols to provide a safe work environment.
• Support system startup and commissioning activities for controls and building automation scopes.
• Provide status, risk, and mitigation updates to CBC leadership and the client.

About the Role

Introduction

The I&C Superintendent partners with internal and external teams to execute work involving the analysis, measurement, and control of process variables including pressure, temperature, humidity, flow, force, and speed. This position is fully onsite at the project in Childress, TX.

Qualifications

Required

• 5+ years of instrumentation and controls construction experience, including work involving the analysis, measurement, and control of process variables such as pressure, temperature, humidity, flow, force, and speed.
• High school diploma or GED required.
• Able to work fully onsite in Childress, TX, ascend and descend ladders, scaffolds, and stairs, work in confined spaces and in proximity to loud equipment, access all areas and levels of an active construction site, pass a pre-employment drug and alcohol screen, and work in the United States without sponsorship.

Preferred

• Extensive experience with I&C installations on large industrial and hi-tech fabrication projects.
• Data center, semiconductor fab, or other mission-critical project experience at program scale.
• Experience supervising multiple controls subcontractors and employees on fast-tracked scope across multiple large buildings.
• Working knowledge of BMS architecture, sequences of operations, points lists, and functional testing support.
• Experience working in and around cleanroom environments.
• Education background in materials and methods of mechanical construction.
• Strong understanding of construction means and methods, sequencing, and field practices.
• Proficient in Windows and Microsoft Office 365 (Excel, Word, Outlook, Power Point and Teams), and have a strong understanding of working within a computer network.
• Experience with project management software such as Prolog, Procore, E-Builder, Bluebeam, Microsoft Project, and Primavera Project Planner (P6).
• Experience with design software such as AutoCAD, Revit and Navisworks.
• Training in design and construction document reading, design specifications, survey theory and techniques.
• Experience in organizing technical data in a neat and accurate method. Familiar with Construction Specifications Institutes (CSI) MasterFormat.
• Highly developed visual observation and interpretation skills.
• Ability to work well and maintain a cooperative attitude in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities.
• Excellent time-management skills and ability to multi-task and prioritize work while frequently interrupted by phone calls and questions on work in progress.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills with an ability to develop strong interpersonal relationships.
• Ability to work closely with variety of trade and craft people in a field work situation. Patience and professionalism are essential.
• Must be a strong team player with the ability to collaborate with various personnel within and across departments and at all levels of leadership.
• Work schedule must be flexible to allow extended hours or off-shift work to accommodate changing construction schedule and sequences.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage and abide by all safety protocols, and provide a safe work environment for the project team.
• Provide resolution to design and constructability issues.
• Respond to client requests and issues and develop resolutions to problems using technical expertise.
• Interpret and implement proper installations in compliance with all local authority permitting codes and site specifications.
• Provide supporting information regarding field conditions and scope for cost estimates.
• Facilitate contractor activity, ensuring performance by all contractual agreements.
• Assist with managing project staffing.
• Work closely with clients, architects, engineers, consultants, and subcontractors.
• Support system startup and commissioning activities for controls and building automation scopes, including readiness reviews and turnover documentation.
• Provide status, risk, and mitigation updates to CBC leadership and the client.

Pay and Benefits

$175,000-$225,000
