Jacobs is seeking an Instrumentation and Controls Engineering Intern for our Life Sciences team in San Francisco, CA. You will contribute to multi-discipline designs for control systems, develop P&IDs, specify instrumentation and valves, and design PLC-based systems while gaining mentorship in a collaborative environment.

You will work with AutoCAD or Revit, pursue EIT certification if needed, and leverage strong organizational skills to support startup activities and project coordination.

Qualifications

• Current enrollment in a B.S. in Electrical, Chemical, Mechanical Engineering or closely related discipline.
• Authorization to work in the United States without visa sponsorship now or in the future.

Your impact

We're looking for an Instrumentation and Controls (I&C) Engineering Intern to join our Life Sciences team in San Francisco, CA, who is excited about working on projects that enable the heart of our clients’ business.

Join us and you’ll have the chance to work on projects for state-of-the-art facilities. You’ll be accountable for the schedule and technical quality of challenging engineering tasks, as you gain familiarity with the client’s expectations, scope, budget, and schedule. You’ll also provide on-site assistance during startup, coordinate work activities with other staff members and the discipline lead.

Your multi-discipline, highly interactive team will produce designs for control systems for a variety of processes for all aspects of the process. You will develop P&IDs, specify process instrumentation and valves, design PLC based systems, design networking for control system, program PLCs and SCADA systems, and you’ll be surrounded by expert mentorship opportunities to help you thrive in your new career.

Here’s what you’ll need

• Current enrollment in a Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical, Chemical, Mechanical Engineering or a closely related engineering discipline
• Authorization to work in the United States without the need for visa sponsorship, now or in the future

Ideally You’ll Also Have

• 3.5 GPA or higher
• Working knowledge of AutoCAD or Revit software
• Previous internship experience with Programmable Logic Controllers and SCADA systems
• Engineer in Training (EIT) Certification or on track to obtain

The base salary range for this position is $61,500.00 to $74,360.00; though will be paid hourly based on hours worked. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
