Join ENERCON’s Design Services Group as an I&C Design Engineering Manager. In this exciting role, you’ll oversee a talented engineering unit, directing projects to success and ensuring exceptional quality standards. Your leadership will extend to business development, staff development, and organizational support, driving the team toward achieving business goals.

Responsibilities
  • Serve as the focal point for initial unit contact to Management, Project Managers (PM), and other internal constituents; define the scope of work for proposals; direct/assign work to balance activities between work groups; maintain responsibility for the unit’s quality and enforce quality standards; accept the unit’s responsibility of budget and schedule for assigned projects; assign unit’s Responsible Engineers (RE) and recommend Lead Responsible Engineer (LRE) for unit-led projects; responsible for approval of engineering documents and certify design documents as required by state and local client and code requirements.
  • Lead proposal preparation with input for scope and budget to PMs; develop professional relationships with client counterparts; assist in marketing the unit’s expertise and abilities to clients.
  • Identify and promote opportunities for site work and training (e.g., owner’s groups, manufacturer, professional society); use deliverable review/approval as a technical training opportunity; provide timely performance feedback and coaching; promote professional development (e.g., professional license, certifications, and client qualifications); support company policies and procedures; demonstrate technical leadership, resolving technical issues through knowledge or coordination with Subject Matter Experts; support the Client Engineering Manager in maintaining, updating, and executing Continuous Improvement Plans; supervise a discipline-specific Engineering Unit comprised of work group lead engineers and staff.
  • Assign engineering resources to projects; maintain short and long‑range staffing projections; approve timesheets and expense reports of direct reports; conduct unit’s annual performance appraisals; support management in recruiting new employees.
  • Meet applied time goals set for position/division/discipline.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering from an accredited university.
  • Typically requires a minimum of 6 years of engineering experience, including experience supporting the nuclear power industry and 2+ years of leadership experience for a Manager role.
  • PE License is required.
  • Ability to gain and maintain unescorted access at nuclear sites.
  • Experience working in a Nuclear Power Plant environment and familiarity with the Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) governing codes.
  • Excellent verbal communication skills; effective communicator with team, clients, and management.
  • Strong technical writing skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong coordination and team building skills; demonstrated ability to work across disciplines, divisions, and teams.
  • Ability to assess and understand team strengths and weaknesses and adjust the level of support/oversight as appropriate.
  • Ability to motivate the team and achieve goals through a positive, winning attitude and effective leadership style consistent with ENERCON’s Defining Excellence fundamentals.
  • Problem‑solving and general scientific evaluation skills.
  • Required to travel up to 15–25% of the time to client sites (expected to travel at least once per month); activities at client sites may require pre‑job briefs and walkdowns, including occasional climbing.
Compensation Range

USD $136,000.00 – USD $204,000.00 / Yr.
