Job summary

Powerserve Technologies is seeking a motivated Instrumentation & Controls Technician to support installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of instrumentation and control systems across a variety of industrial and utility projects. The role is field‑based, requiring hands‑on, detail‑oriented work and travel throughout Florida.

You will work under Lead Technicians and Supervisors, contributing to field execution while growing in the I&C discipline.

Qualifications

• 1–5+ years in instrumentation, controls, electrical, or related field.
• Ability to read electrical drawings, P&IDs, loop diagrams, and schematics.
• Experience with low‑voltage wiring installation and termination.
• Willingness to travel throughout Florida and work outdoors.

Responsibilities

• Install, terminate, and test instrumentation and control wiring, panels, and devices
• Assist with calibration and commissioning of instruments (flow, level, pressure, temperature, etc.)
• Read and interpret electrical drawings, P&IDs, loop diagrams, and schematics
• Troubleshoot control systems, including PLC-based systems and associated components
• Support startup and commissioning activities at project sites
• Perform routine maintenance and inspections on I&C equipment
• Ensure all work complies with project specs, codes, and safety standards
• Document work performed, including redlines and field reports
• Maintain tools, equipment, and a clean, safe work environment

Location: Florida (Statewide travel required; emphasis on Collier County)

Position Summary

We are seeking a motivated Instrumentation & Controls (I&C) Technician to support installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of instrumentation and control systems across a variety of industrial and utility projects. This role is ideal for an entry to mid‑level technician who is hands‑on, detail‑oriented, and eager to grow within the I&C field. You will work under the direction of Lead Technicians and Supervisors while contributing directly to field execution.

Key Responsibilities

• Install, terminate, and test instrumentation and control wiring, panels, and devices
• Assist with calibration and commissioning of instruments (flow, level, pressure, temperature, etc.)
• Read and interpret electrical drawings, P&IDs, loop diagrams, and schematics
• Troubleshoot control systems, including PLC‑based systems and associated components
• Support startup and commissioning activities at project sites
• Perform routine maintenance and inspections on I&C equipment
• Ensure all work is completed in accordance with project specifications, codes, and safety standards
• Accurately document work performed, including redlines and field reports
• Maintain tools, equipment, and a clean, safe work environment

Qualifications

• 1–5+ years of experience in instrumentation and controls, electrical, or related field
• Basic understanding of industrial control systems and instrumentation
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and schematics
• Experience with installation and termination of low‑voltage and control wiring
• Familiarity with PLC systems (Allen‑Bradley, Siemens, etc.) is a plus
• Strong troubleshooting and problem‑solving skills
• Willingness to travel throughout Florida and work in outdoor/industrial environments
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation

Preferred Experience (Not Required)

• Experience in water/wastewater, utilities, substations, or industrial facilities
• Knowledge of SCADA systems
• Instrument calibration experience
• OSHA 10 or 30 certification

Work Environment & Physical Requirements

• Field‑based role requiring travel to project sites across Florida
• Work may be performed outdoors in varying weather conditions
• Ability to lift 50+ lbs, climb ladders, and work in industrial environments
