Job summary

Jacobs is seeking an experienced Instrumentation and Controls Engineer in Latham, New York. You will design and optimize control systems for semiconductor and research facilities, developing P&IDs, sizing valves, and specifying instrumentation.

Qualifications

Job description

We’re seeking an Instrumentation and Controls Engineer to join our Latham, New York team. In this role you’ll contribute to projects that power the core operations of our clients, including cutting‑edge semiconductor manufacturing and advanced research facilities.

As part of a collaborative, multi‑disciplinary team, you’ll help design and optimize control systems for a variety of processes, working closely with architects, engineers and designers to deliver complete, world‑class solutions for new facilities. Your responsibilities include developing P&IDs, sizing valves, specifying instrumentation, panel design, I/O assignments, documenting and modeling design information while ensuring compliance with building codes and industry standards.

This position offers hands‑on experience and expert mentorship to help you grow your technical skills and understanding of process control, instrumentation and automation.

Qualifications
  • At least 8 years of work experience designing Instrumentation and Control Systems
  • Working knowledge of PLC, PAC, DDC, DCS systems
  • Ability to work onsite (hybrid) in Latham, NY
  • Bachelor's degree in Chemical, Electrical or Mechanical Engineering
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license or Engineer in Training (EIT)
  • Ability to collaborate and work effectively in a variety of teams, including multi‑disciplinary teams
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Forward‑thinking, eager to learn best practices and contribute with innovative ideas
  • Displayed ability to learn quickly and driven to broaden knowledge base
  • Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills

The base salary range for this position is $102,900.00 to $150,000.00. Pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job‑related skills, experience and relevant education or training.
