Averro in Oak Brook, IL, seeks an experienced I&C Engineer to translate system requirements into detailed control designs, selecting hardware and integrating controllers.

You will perform FMEA, support verification and commissioning, maintain design docs and traceability, and collaborate with vendors in regulated environments.

Competenze

• 5+ years of hands-on digital I&C experience in regulated environments.
• Experience with FMEA, V&V, test procedures, and hardware/software integration; control system cybersecurity familiarity.
• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Control Systems Engineering, or a related field.

Role & Responsibilities

• Translate system requirements into detailed I&C designs, including control logic, sensors, and I/O
• Select, specify, and integrate I&C hardware and controllers; manage controls vendors
• Perform FMEA and support verification, validation, testing, and commissioning
• Maintain design documentation and requirements traceability; support licensing and cross-disciplinary interfaces

Essential Qualifications

• 5+ years of hands-on digital I&C experience (PLC, FPGA, DCS, SCADA, or embedded controls) in regulated environments
• Experience with FMEA, V&V, test procedures, and hardware/software integration; control system cybersecurity familiarity
• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Control Systems Engineering, or a related field

Bonus Qualifications

• 7+ years of hands-on experience; nuclear industry or Navy nuclear background
• FPGA-based or digital safety/protection system experience
• Project and contract management experience
