Beyond New Horizons, LLC (BNH) has an exciting opportunity for an Instrument Technician, supporting TOS II, at Arnold AFB in Tullahoma, TN. The Instrument Technician will calibrate and repair various instruments used in aeronautical tests and related research activities, operating under general supervision.

The role requires two years of instrument experience, a high school diploma, and the ability to obtain an active security clearance.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
• Two years of professional experience operating, calibrating, maintaining, or troubleshooting laboratory test instruments.
• Valid State Driver’s License.
• Must be able to obtain and maintain an active security clearance and access AEDC networks.
• U.S. Citizenship is required due to federal contract requirements.

Responsibilities

• Modifies, fabricates, maintains, repairs, and calibrates a variety of mechanical, optical, electrical, electromechanical, and electronic indicating and recording instruments and precision measuring equipment.
• Performs diagnostic and troubleshooting activities for instrument control systems.
• Connects instruments to computers and recording devices.
• Adjusts and calibrates instruments and adapts them to new uses.
• Assists in training lower-level technicians.

Job Duties

• Modifies, fabricates, maintains, repairs, and calibrates a with variety of mechanical, optical, electrical, electromechanical, and electronic indicating and recording instrument and precision measuring equipment
• Performs diagnostic and troubleshooting activities required to service discrete and digital logic instrument control systems
• Connect instruments to computers and recording devices
• Adjusts and calibrates instruments as directed and adapts them to new or extended uses
• Assists in servicing and adjusting computers, microprocessors, and peripheral devices
• Uses a wide variety of instruments, tools, and equipment necessary to perform assigned duties
• Works primarily in a laboratory or field equipment environment
• Assists in training lower-level technicians
• It is a condition of employment to wear PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) in accordance with supervisory direction and company policy.
• Performs other related duties as required

Basic Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Two (2) years of professional experience operating, calibrating, maintaining, or troubleshooting laboratory test instruments.
• Valid State Driver’s License
• Must be proficient in reading, writing, and speaking English to comprehend technical orders (TOs), safety directives, and emergency procedures in a high-hazard fuel storage or testing environment.
• Must be able to obtain and maintain an active security clearance and maintain authorized user access to the AEDC local area network.
• S. Citizenship is required due to federal government contract compliance requirements and the necessity to access secure federal databases and networks on Arnold Air Force Base.

Preferred Qualifications

• Active Secret clearance
