Qualifications

• 4 years of industrial maintenance experience or equivalent.
• Journeyman Instrument Tech equivalent with two years formal education plus two years relevant experience.
• Basic knowledge and experience in computer usage.
• High School Diploma or GED.
• Must be able to work rotating shifts.
• Must be able to pass a multi-phase physical.

Responsibilities

• Work from prints, diagrams, specifications and instructions covering repairs.
• Demolition, installation, testing and inspection of electrical systems.
• Install system components and wiring per NEC, NESC, NFPA and UFC.
• Maintain electrical control circuits for motors, PLCs and control devices.
• Test, inspect, repair, dismantle, assemble, and maintain AC/DC systems and equipment.
• Perform maintenance tasks to improve reliability and uptime of equipment.

How You Will Impact Smurfit Westrock

• Work from prints, diagrams, specifications, and instructions covering emergency and scheduled repairs
• Demolition, installation, testing and inspection of work on electrical systems
• Install system components and wiring in compliance with the NEC, NESC, NFPA and the UFC
• Install, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain electrical control circuits for motors, PLC hardware and software and control devices for various electrical devices
• Test, inspect, clean, repair, dismantle, adjust, replace, assemble, and maintain all manual or automatic AC and DC systems, electrical equipment, transformers, switch gear, control panels, regulators, distribution systems, generation systems and various other electrical components
• Instrument technicians perform a variety of maintenance related tasks in connection with the maintenance department to improve the reliability and uptime of equipment used in the pulp and paper manufacturing process

What You Need To Succeed

• Must have 4 years of industrial maintenance experience or equivalent with journeyman level skill set.
• Journeyman Instrument Tech equivalent with two years formal education (certified trade school) plus two years relevant experience.
• Basic knowledge and experience in computer usage.
• High School Diploma or GED
• Must be able to work rotating shifts
• Must be able to pass a multi-phase physical.

Compensation Offered

• Starting wage of $43.24/hour.
