Job summary

Saulsbury Industries in Loving, NM is seeking an Instrument Fitter with solid industrial construction experience to plan work activities, read loop sheets, P&IDs, and blueprints, and coordinate the installation and removal of instruments.

The role requires readiness to provide tools, strong attention to detail, and the ability to work at heights and in varied environments. You will help maintain records and support site cleanup after tasks.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 4 years of Industrial Construction experience as an Instrument Fitter.
• Working knowledge P&ID’s.
• Knowledge of tube bending.
• Attention to detail.
• Must be able to provide tools.

Responsibilities

• Plan work activities by understanding instructions and documentation.
• Coordinate movement of materials and equipment to work locations and set up the work site.
• Complete and review records, maintain tools and equipment, and perform various clean-up activities.
• Read loop sheets, P&IDs, and blueprints to support installation and removal of instruments.
• Disassemble and remove instruments and reinstall them; perform tube bending and install instrument stands, headers, instruments, and tubing.

General Information

Understand instructions and documentation to plan work activities. Helps coordinate movement of materials and equipment to work locations and sets up work site. Completes and reviews records, maintains tools and equipment, and performs various clean-up activities.

Primary Responsibilities

• Read loop sheets, P&IDs, and blueprints
• Work to disassemble and remove instruments and then reinstall
• Perform tube bending; tube bending in groups; install instrument stands, instrument air headers, instruments, tube tray; screw pipe; deco trace; steam tracking

Requirements

• Minimum of 4 years of Industrial Construction experience as an Instrument Fitter.
• Working knowledge P&ID’s
• Knowledge of tube bending
• Attention to detail
• Must be able to provide tools.

Physical Requirements

• Manual and finger dexterity.
• Eye-hand coordination.
• Depth perception.
• Ability to see things clearly that are beyond arm’s reach. (Far visual acuity)
• Ability to see small detail.
• Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
• Must be able to work at heights above 20 feet. (Aerial lifts)
• Ability to climb 30-foot ladders without resting.
• Ability to maintain balance on catwalks and narrow workspaces.
• Ability to stand for long periods of time.
• Ability to reach above the head while sitting or standing.
• Ability to reach below knees while standing.
• Ability to stoop or kneel.
• Ability to work at least 60 each week.
• Ability to work at heights.
