Job summary

The Crescent Energy I&E Construction Foreman leads and coordinates field construction activities for instrumentation and electrical projects supporting Oil & Gas operations.

This position provides direct oversight of contract crews and assigned personnel, ensuring work is completed safely, on schedule, within budget, and in accordance with approved drawings, specifications, scopes of work, and company standards.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; I&E trade experience preferred.
• Five+ years of progressive electrical and instrumentation construction experience in Oil & Gas or related industries.
• Experience leading field crews or contractors on construction projects.
• Ability to read electrical drawings, P&IDs, wiring diagrams, and BOMs.
• Knowledge of safety practices, lockout/tagout, and hazardous-location installs.

Responsibilities

• Lead daily field execution of I&E construction and capex activities at facilities and well sites.
• Supervise contractors and field crews performing electrical, instrumentation, and control work.
• Plan work activities, prioritize tasks, and coordinate manpower, equipment, and permits.
• Review drawings, loop diagrams, P&IDs, and specifications before execution.
• Maintain BOM accuracy and assist with SOWs, bids, and schedules.
• Monitor costs, hours, material usage, and forecast spend; flag variances.
• Coordinate with operations, engineering, procurement, and contractors for delivery.
• Ensure work quality meets codes, drawings, and company standards.
• Enforce safety policies and regulatory requirements; conduct toolbox talks.
• Track progress and provide updates on completed work and upcoming needs.

The I&E Construction Foreman leads and coordinates field construction activities for instrumentation and electrical (I&E) projects supporting Oil & Gas operations. This position provides direct oversight of contract crews and assigned personnel, ensuring work is completed safely, on schedule, within budget, and in accordance with approved drawings, specifications, scopes of work, and company standards.

Essential Responsibilities

• Lead daily field execution of I&E construction, installation, maintenance, and capital project activities at Oil & Gas facilities, well sites, pipelines, compressor stations, tank batteries, and related infrastructure.
• Supervise contractors and field crews performing electrical, instrumentation, controls, conduit, cable tray, cable pulling, terminations, grounding, tubing, device installation, commissioning, and troubleshooting work.
• Plan work activities; establish daily priorities; coordinate manpower, equipment, materials, permits, and access requirements.
• Review construction drawings, one-line diagrams, loop drawings, P&IDs, electrical area classifications, specifications, and work packages before execution.
• Develop, review, and maintain bills of materials (BOMs), ensuring materials are accurately identified, available, and suitable for the approved scope.
• Assist with developing scopes of work (SOWs), contractor bid packages, work estimates, and construction schedules.
• Monitor project costs, labor hours, material usage, commitments, and forecasted spending; identify potential budget or schedule variances promptly.
• Coordinate closely with project personnel, operations, engineering, procurement, maintenance, inspection, and contractors to support safe, efficient project delivery.
• Verify work quality and ensure installations meet applicable codes, drawings, company standards, manufacturer requirements, and project specifications.
• Enforce compliance with company safety policies, environmental requirements, safe work permits, lockout/tagout procedures, job safety analyses, and applicable regulatory requirements.
• Conduct daily safety meetings, pre-job discussions, field inspections, and toolbox talks; promptly address unsafe work conditions or practices.
• Track progress against project schedules and provide regular updates on completed work, upcoming needs, constraints, cost impacts, and corrective actions.
• Support commissioning, startup, functional testing, punch-list completion, turnover documentation, and closeout activities.
• Maintain accurate field records, including daily reports, time records, and change order documentation.
• Promote a professional, accountable, and collaborative work environment with contractors, operations personnel, and internal teams.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; technical school, apprenticeship, or equivalent I&E trade experience preferred.
• Five or more years of progressive electrical and instrumentation construction experience in the Oil & Gas, midstream, refining, petrochemical, or industrial sector.
• Previous experience leading field crews, contractors, or construction activities required.
• Strong working knowledge of industrial electrical and instrumentation systems, including motors, MCCs, switchgear, PLC/controls interfaces, transmitters, control valves, analyzers, conduit, cable tray, cable, grounding, and hazardous-area installations.
• Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings, loop diagrams, P&IDs, wiring diagrams, construction specifications, and material lists.
• Working knowledge of construction planning, contractor coordination, BOM development, SOW development, cost tracking, and schedule management.
• Knowledge of applicable safety practices and industry standards, electrical safe-work practices, lockout/tagout, and hazardous-location requirements.
• Strong leadership, communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• Proficient with common office and project-tracking tools.
• Valid driver’s license and ability to travel to field locations as needed.

Working Conditions

This position works primarily in field and industrial environments and may require exposure to varying weather conditions, noise, heavy equipment, chemicals, and other Oil & Gas operational hazards. The role requires regular walking, climbing, standing, lifting, and use of personal protective equipment. Travel and non-standard work hours may be required to support project schedules and operational needs.
