Job summary
Dyno Nobel, Inc. seeks an Instrumentation and Control Technician to monitor and maintain DeltaV control systems, perform firmware updates, and manage lifecycle activities.
The role includes OS upgrades, antivirus updates, and maintaining security across networked instrumentation in a manufacturing setting. The ideal candidate will have 5+ years in industrial automation, experience with DCS/PLC, DeltaV or Rockwell systems, HMI configuration, and knowledge of SIS and industrial databases.
Qualifications
- Associate's degree in Engineering, Automation, Electrical Technology, or related field.
- 5+ years of experience in industrial automation or control systems.
- Experience in industrial, manufacturing, or chemical plant environments.
- Experience supporting DCS or PLC systems.
- Experience with DeltaV or Rockwell ControlLogix.
- Experience configuring HMI systems.
- Knowledge of Safety Instrumented Systems (ISA 84 / IEC 61511).
- Experience with SQL Server, MS Access, or industrial databases.
- Knowledge of industrial networking and cybersecurity basics.
- Positive attitude, friendly demeanor, and a team player.

- Support legacy system maintenance and upgrade planning.
- Perform OS upgrades, service packs, patches, and fixes.
- Maintain virus protection and system security updates.
- Maintain network security and user management.
- Maintain control system configuration libraries and standards.
- Configure and maintain alarm attributes and logging systems.
- Develop and maintain control loop specifications and drawings.
- Monitor and improve control loop performance using monitoring tools.

As the Instrumentation and Control Technician, you will consistently monitor and providemaintenance of the Control systems to ensure continued reliable operation. You will complete regular firmware updates and update virus protection software.

- Support alarm rationalization and system reliability
- Develop and maintain control loop functional specifications
- Prepare control strategy documentation and loop drawings using SAMA diagrams or logic block diagrams
- Monitor and improve control loop performance
- Utilize tools such as Emerson Insight to detect performance degradation and optimize loop performance
- Partner with E&I technicians to develop and optimize preventive maintenance programs
- Use monitoring tools such as ValveLink to support outage planning and reduce unplanned downtime
- Associate's degree in Engineering, Automation, Electrical Technology, or related field
- OR
- 5+ years of experience in industrial automation or control systems
- Experience working in an industrial, manufacturing, or chemical plant environment
- Experience supporting Distributed Control Systems (DCS) or PLC systems
- Experience with DeltaV or Rockwell Automation ControlLogix
- Experience configuring HMI systems
- Knowledge of Safety Instrumented Systems (ISA 84 / IEC 61511)
- Experience with SQL Server, MS Access, or industrial databases
- Knowledge of industrial networking
- Positive attitude, friendly demeanor, and a team player
