Job summary

Snapology of King of Prussia is seeking an Instructor/Teacher STEAM Children’s Enrichment to teach Snapology programs after school and in community settings. The role promotes creativity, teamwork, and problem-solving for children aged 2–14, with collaboration with leadership and parents in a professional manner.

Shifts typically start at 3 PM after school, with flexible weekend or event opportunities. Compensation is $40.00 per hour, and training with complete curriculum is provided.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of experience working with children in classroom or camp settings.
• Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing.
• Criminal and Child Clearances must be current.
• Proven reliable and punctual attendance.

Responsibilities

• Lead groups of up to 24 students through curriculum-guided activities.
• Instruct and monitor students in the use of learning materials and equipment.
• Manage student behavior by establishing and enforcing rules.
• Maintain discipline per Snapology policies.
• Encourage and monitor student progress and adjust teaching strategies as needed.
• Prepare for each program by reading curriculum and training materials.
• Handle inquiries from parents regarding Snapology programs.
• Encourage enrollment in future Snapology programs.
• Participate in Snapology training and staff meetings.

Position

The primary focus of an Instructor/Teacher STEAM Children's Enrichment will be to teach Snapology programs. Instructor/Teacher STEAM Children's Enrichment are asked to promote creativity, teamwork, and problem-solving skills while educating students on STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering & Math) concepts. Programs are conducted for children ages 2-14, although not all instructors are required to teach all age groups. This role requires internal collaboration and communication with Snapology leadership as well as representing the Snapology organization to parents & children with a high degree of professionalism.

We are a mobile business that operates in schools, libraries, homes, etc. throughout Nassau County Long Island and our new location in the Samanea Mall Westbury. Most of our shifts start at 3 PM after School, Preschool earlier.

Role & Responsibilities

• Lead groups of up to 24 students through curriculum-guided activities
• Instruct and monitor students in the use of learning materials and equipment
• Manage student behavior in the classroom by establishing and enforcing rules and procedures
• Maintain discipline in accordance with the rules and disciplinary systems of Snapology
• Encourage and monitor the progress of individual students and use the information to adjust teaching strategies
• Adequately prepare for each program by reading curriculum, watching training videos, and/or participating in face-to-face training sessions
• Handle inquiries from parents regarding Snapology programs
• Encourage students & parents to enroll students in future Snapology programs
• Participate in periodic Snapology training & staff meetings, as required

Qualifications

• Criminal and Child Clearances must be current
• 2 or more years of experience working with children in a classroom or camp environment
• Education degree or teaching experience recommended, teachers, pursuing a degree in education will also be considered for this position
• Ability to establish and maintain cooperative and effective working relationships with othersAbility to communicate effectively orally and in writing
• Proven ability to report to work on a regular and punctual basis

This position is part-time. Depending on candidate availability and the time of year, Instructor/Teacher STEAM Children's Enrichment typically work between 2-10 hours per week.

Compensation: $40.00 per hour
