The Instructor position will perform teaching and related responsibilities as detailed below.## Brief Work Unit Description:The Department of Health and Exercise Science (HES) is one of eight academic programs in the College of Health and Human Sciences. Colorado State University is Colorado’s land grant institution and holds the Doctoral/Research University – Extensive classification from the Carnegie Commission on Higher Education. Health and Exercise Science is focused on a three- part mission of undergraduate and graduate teaching, research and scholarly work and outreach/engagement/service. We are committed to our goal of producing nationally and internationally recognized research programs and graduates that are focused on helping people protect and improve their health and quality of life throughout the lifespan.The Department has ~1200 undergraduate majors, ~ 30 M.S. and Ph.D. students, ~15-20 academic and research staff and 25 faculty members. Faculty in the Department of Health and Exercise Science have a strong commitment to high-quality teaching and advising and conduct innovative research with an emphasis on basic, translational, and clinical work to prevent aging- related disease and disability and maximize human functional performance.## Salary Range:* $5,000 - $7,000 per course## Essential Job Duties:* Teaching courses in the Department of Health and Exercise Science.## Conditions of Employment:* Pre-employment Criminal Background Check (required for new hires).## Supervision:* None## Minimum Qualifications:* Master’s degree in an appropriate discipline.* At least one year teaching undergraduate courses in content area at the college or university level as the instructor of record (after completion of master’s degree).* Experience in managing and developing course curriculum and developing academic support materials, such as recitation or supplemental instruction.* Effective written and oral communications skills.## Preferred Qualifications:* Knowledge of certifications (e.g. ACSM, NSCA), in the health and wellness industry.* Familiarity with modern learning technologies and/or classroom strategies for promoting student success.* Experience teaching in various platforms and environments – resident instruction, online and hybrid.## Application Instructions:Interested applicants must submit a cover letter which addresses how professional experiences align with identified required and preferred qualifications of the position, and a current resume or curriculum vitae.This is an **evergreen** posting.
