Job summary

Training Leaders International is looking for qualified men to serve as Instructors at seminaries overseas. The position requires you to take 4-5 international trips each year.

The ideal candidate has a terminal degree in New Testament, a deep commitment to and experience in the local church, and proven competency in creating and teaching formal courses cross-culturally. While in the US, Instructors help coordinate the work with TLI partner colleges and seminaries as well as working on research

Qualifications

• Abiding faith in Jesus Christ.
• Meet character qualifications of a local church elder (1 Tim. 3:1-7).
• Love for the local church and a passion to train national leaders who will plant and pastor healthy local churches.
• Ability to create and teach undergraduate and graduate level courses in accordance with a course description from a college or seminary.
• Ability to establish relationships and communicate cross-culturally.
• Whole-hearted agreement with The Gospel Coalition Confessional Statement.
• PhD or equivalent in New Testament.
• Pastoral experience strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Aid the President in implementing of the vision of TLI
• Travel overseas 4-6 times a year. Trips will include teaching modular courses, engaging students inside and outside the classroom, and meeting with the school leaders to aid in continuously improving the training programs. Trips will primarily be to formal training schools but may also include non-formal expository preaching courses
• Closely mentor volunteer faculty as they create their courses and prepare to teach cross-culturally
• Take primary responsibility for the relationships and coordination with one of our formal school partners
• Assist in recruiting volunteer faculty. This may include traveling to seminaries and churches.
• Participate as a presenter as well as establishing and deepening relationships at conferences related to evangelical scholarship and cross-cultural missions
• Engage in professional writing projects related to your area of specialization and the mission of TLI
• Perform research and writing projects for internal use at TLI

The position requires you to take 4-5 international trips each year. The ideal candidate has a terminal degree in New Testament, a deep commitment to and experience in the local church, and proven competency in creating and teaching formal courses cross-culturally. While in the US, Instructors help coordinate the work with TLI partner colleges and seminaries as well as working on research and writing projects. Instructors must develop their own personal support network.
