Gateway Community and Technical College seeks a qualified Nursing instructor to join our Health Professions team. The full-time faculty will deliver lectures, labs, and assessments for the Associate Degree Nursing program, participate in curriculum development, and support student recruitment and retention.

The position is a 10-month contract with a 37.5-hour work week and a discretionary hybrid work location.

Qualificações

  • BSN with 18 hours graduate work or BSN with commitment to MSN within five years.
  • State board of nursing approved professional education program.
  • Minimum two years RN direct patient care in last five years.
  • Current KY RN license.
  • Experience in classroom teaching, curriculum design, and use of technology.
  • Proficiency with MS Office and LMS (Blackboard/Canvas).
  • Ability to engage diverse student populations and adapt to fast-paced environment.

Responsabilidades

Job Summary

Gateway Community and Technical College in Northern Kentucky is looking for a passionate and qualified individual to join our dedicated Nursing faculty full-time. Success in this role requires strong teamwork skills to deliver nursing education to Associate Degree Nursing students. This faculty member will actively participate in team teaching to provide high-quality nursing education.

This faculty member is responsible for delivering lectures, labs, and assessments to students in a comprehensive and engaging manner. They will participate in curriculum development and review, ensuring that course content is relevant and up-to-date. In addition to teaching responsibilities, they will serve on departmental committees and contribute to the overall mission of the College. They are expected to maintain a professional demeanor and provide support for students, faculty, and staff. They will help recruit students for the program and monitor and improve student retention. They will support students from diverse cultural and socioeconomic backgrounds.

10-month faculty contracts span the academic year, typically from August to May, with no course assignments during June and July. Although the contract covers 10 months, the salary is spread over 12 months, ensuring a consistent monthly salary. Benefits are provided year-round. Renewal of the contract depends on factors such as student enrollment and available funding.

Job Duties
  • Participate in instructional presentation and delivery, including planning, designing, evaluating, and assessing instructional programs.
  • Assist in the design and update of course syllabi, curriculum review, revision, and development.
  • Incorporate the latest instructional technologies and interactive learning methods in course delivery.
  • Support and promote the mission, goals, and objectives of the College by performing duties as directed by the leadership of the department, division, and College.
  • Provide supplemental teaching in clinical and skills laboratories each semester as necessary.
  • Recruit students for the program.
  • Monitor and improve student retention.
  • Provide quality customer service to students, faculty, and staff.
  • Participate in faculty committees.
  • Other activities as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) with 18 hours of graduate work in Nursing or a BSN with a commitment to obtain a Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) within five years.
  • Completion of a professional nursing education program approved by a state board of nursing.
  • Minimum of two years full-time or equivalent experience in direct patient care as a registered nurse within the immediate last five years.
  • Medical/surgical experience is required; experience in critical care, pediatrics, obstetrics, and/or mental health is a plus.
  • Current, active, unencumbered licensure as a registered nurse in the state of Kentucky.
  • Experience in classroom and clinical teaching, curriculum design, and the use of technology.
  • Excellent computer skills and a demonstrated career that includes flexibility, open-mindedness, a willingness to take risks, and a commitment to professional and personal growth.
  • Detail-oriented, self-motivated, ability to work independently and adapt seamlessly to fast-paced, dynamic environments.
  • Skilled in engaging and supporting students from different cultural and socioeconomic backgrounds.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple priorities effectively and meet tight deadlines.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Forms, Outlook, Teams, SharePoint, Word).
  • Proficiency with Learning Management Systems (such as Blackboard, Canvas, etc.).
  • Significant teaching experience, particularly at the college level
  • Strong dedication to enhancing student learning and achievement.
  • Ability to adapt to new technologies and teaching methods is highly valued.
