Job summary

Moberly Area Community College is seeking a Part-time Instructor to supervise nursing students in clinical settings and evaluate their performance. The role requires clinical expertise consistent with adult learning principles and participation in faculty activities.

Required are a BSN, an active Missouri nursing license, at least two years of recent clinical experience, and CPR certification. The instructor will orient to facilities, maintain required records, and support program goals.

Job description

This position is responsible for supervising the students in the clinical environment. This position is also responsible for evaluating the clinical performance of the student and grading all clinical assignments. This is a part-time, hourly position covered by social security.

This individual must possess current clinical expertise in the area they are assigned and display knowledge of current adult learning principles, as well as meet the following requirements:

1. B.S.N. required;

2. Current license to practice professional nursing with an undisciplined license in the State of Missouri;

3. A minimum of two (2)years recent clinical experience;

4. Current certification in CPR

The Part-time Instructor shall:

1. Provide students clinical instruction in (their) his/her designated clinical specialty;
2. Orient to the assigned clinical facility and to Moberly Area Community College;
3. Attend an orientation session on the curriculum, etc. of the Program;
4. Keep current evidence of licensure and education on file with the College and Health Sciences;
5. Maintain current certification in cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR);
6. Maintain clinically current in their designated clinical specialty. Certification is desirable but not mandatory;
7. Attend Faculty meetings as required by the Dean;
8. Submit a semi-monthly time sheet on payroll dates to the Department of Health Sciences;
9. Keep adequate records of grades, attendance, clinical performance, and anecdotal notes, and submit as necessary to the Director of Health Sciences (Grades to the Registrar);
10. Perform duties as assigned by the Director of Nursing and/or Dean of Health Sciences, or the President;
11. Perform the duties and responsibilities for part-time faculty as listed in the MACC Policy Handbook.
