Position Summary


The Department of English at the University of Southern Indiana, a public university in Evansville, Indiana, seeks applications for a renewable position at the Instructor level in English, basic writing, rhetoric and composition. Appointment will begin August 2025.


Duties/Responsibilities


The English Instructor will be expected to engage in department and university service activities, and teach 12 credit hours per semester, a 4/4 load, that includes undergraduate rhetoric and composition, literature (Medieval, Victorian, and Shakespeare) and humanities courses


Required Knowledge and Skills


Applicants must hold a PhD degree in English and have three or more years of demonstrated success teaching college-level rhetoric and composition, literature and humanities classes.


Preferred Knowledge and Skills


A specialization in Humanities.
