Job Summary

The Instructor I, Recreation | Mountain Biking position is responsible for providing a fun and positive learning environment for program participants. This position supports our after-school mountain biking program, which typically operates Monday through Thursday.

Minimum Qualifications
  • 18 years of age or older.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.

The successful applicant must pass a required pre-employment background check and subsequent mandatory background checks in accordance with current District policy requirements.

Preferred But Not Required
  • Knowledge of sports, fitness, aquatics, and recreational activities.
  • CPR and First Aid certifications within four (4) weeks of hire.

Working Conditions and Aptitudes
  • Duties are performed indoors and outdoors, including working in inclement weather, and extreme temperatures.
  • Duties primarily performed in a public setting, requiring constant interaction with a variety of people.
  • Work effectively with crowds, uncooperative participants during difficult situations, emergency response, and periods of continuous demand.
  • Work a variety of shifts including evenings, weekends, and/or holidays depending on department needs.
  • This position is ineligible for remote work. Essential duties cannot be completed without being physically present.
Physical Requirements
  • Equal or less than 25% | Focus on a computer screen.
  • Equal or less than 50% | Sitting.
  • Equal or less than 75% | Standing, walking, bending, and other physical exertion.
  • Equal or less than 50% | Pushing, pulling, and kneeling.
  • Equal or less than 25% | Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds unassisted.
