Job summary

Universal Technical Institute seeks an accomplished auto instructor to guide students through hands-on diagnostics, repair, and systems education. You’ll translate expertise into engaging demonstrations and foster a collaborative learning environment that supports diverse learners.

With 5–10 years in the field, you’ll mentor students, help develop courses, and model strong safety practices while embracing the latest automotive technologies. Weekend availability is not required.

Qualifications

• Education: High school diploma or GED; associates/bachelor's degree is a plus for management level.
• Experience: 5-10 years of practical work experience in automotive.
• CERTIFICATIONS: ASE certifications valued; employer may subsidize certification.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills for student interaction.
• Patient and empathetic approach to teaching diverse learners.

Responsibilities

• Mentorship: Guide and mentor students on their individual projects, encouraging them to think critically and find innovative solutions.
• Safety First: Instill the importance of safety procedures and best practices to ensure a secure working environment for students.

Quaifications

• Education: High school diploma or GED or Associates/bachelor's is a plus for management level
• Experience: 5-10 years of practical work experience in the field
• Certifications: ASEs are highly valued, but if not current, we will pay for you to obtain
• Communication Skills: Strong communication and interpersonal skills, enabling you to effectively connect with students and fellow staff
• Patience and Empathy: A patient and empathetic approach to teaching, understanding that every student learns at their own pace
