Job summary

Arizona College in Glendale, AZ seeks an Instructor for the Dental Assisting Program at our Glendale Campus. This part-time role runs Monday–Thursday evenings from 5:30–11:05pm under the Program Director's supervision.

The instructor will teach in the classroom and lab using lectures, demonstrations, and audiovisual aids, and will evaluate student progress while supporting their professional and academic development.

Responsibilities

• Keep students engaged in a classroom environment while following an established curriculum / syllabus
• Create positive educational climate for students to learn in while establishing and communicating clear objectives for all learning activities
• Offer constant guidance during the practical portion of class- educating students on proper technique and skills
• Meet course and school-wide student performance goals
• Manage student behavior in the classroom by invoking approved disciplinary procedures.
• Observe and evaluate student’s performance and counsel those who do not adhere to guidelines
• Identify and refer students who are “at risk” and take appropriate action.

What You’ll Do:

Under general supervision from the Program Director, the Instructor will perform a variety of routine duties. This position requires direct contact with students in instruction, training, and monitoring professional and academic development throughout their program. On average, Instructors teach three classes per day or evening shift. The Instructor provides a learning experience to in the classroom and in the lab using a variety of teaching methods such as lectures and demonstrations and using audiovisual and technological aids to supplement the presentations as well as evaluating their achievements.
