Meet Circuit Stream
Where big futures start. Circuit Stream is building the defining youth enrichment brand in North America. We create pre-university summer camps that give young people the chance to explore what they might want to do next, from AI, engineering, medicine and business to psychology, sports, outdoor adventure and more. Through partnerships with leading universities and industry experts, we turn those interests into hands‑on experiences that build skills, confidence, and open doors to future opportunities. We have big ambitions to serve over 10,000+ students a year. Getting there means moving quickly, trying new things, learning from what works, and giving great people real ownership. If you’re ambitious about where your own career can go, and excited to help young people discover where theirs might lead, you’ll thrive here.
We’re looking for a debate, public speaking or communications practitioner who can help teenagers find their voice and create a classroom where students are excited to speak up, challenge ideas, and grow in confidence.

What You'll Be Doing

- Guide students through argument construction, research and evidence, rebuttal, cross‑examination, persuasive speaking, and impromptu speaking, while ensuring learners are meeting the course learning objectives.
- Create an inclusive, positive classroom environment where students feel confident participating, and use appropriate behavior‑management techniques to reinforce expectations, respect, rules, and safety requirements.
- Coach students as they practice debates and speeches, provide constructive feedback on reasoning and delivery, and communicate concerns or learner needs to the Circuit Stream team.
- Supervise students during scheduled indoor and outdoor activities outside classroom instruction each day, helping maintain engagement, appropriate behavior, and safety.
What We're Looking For
- You genuinely enjoy working with teenagers and know how to encourage participation, confidence, respectful disagreement, and active learning.
- Professional, academic, competitive, coaching, or substantial project experience in debate, public speaking, communications, advocacy, or a closely related field.
- A completed degree in Communications, Political Science, Law, or a related discipline is preferred.
- Strong communication and facilitation skills, with the ability to teach argumentation, persuasion, and public speaking in a clear and approachable way for beginners.
- Teaching, tutoring, debate coaching, public speaking coaching, mentoring, camp, or youth-program experience is strongly preferred.
- You are dependable, prepared, receptive to feedback, and comfortable taking responsibility for student behavior and safety.
Who This Is For
- Someone who gets energy from helping teenagers build confidence and is comfortable being active, visible, and engaged throughout the day.
- A practical teacher who brings provided lessons to life through debate, discussion, speaking practice, feedback, and encouragement.
- Someone who can be warm and approachable while still setting clear boundaries and maintaining a respectful, focused, and safe learning environment.
- A confident communicator who can model strong reasoning and speaking skills while helping beginners improve at their own pace.
- Someone available to teach on weekdays during the summer for the course dates listed.
Who This Is Not For
- If you enjoy debate or public speaking but do not enjoy spending your day actively working with teenagers.
- If your preferred teaching style is primarily lecture-based or you are uncomfortable getting students speaking, debating, and participating throughout class.
- If you become frustrated when beginners are nervous, need encouragement, or require extra support to organize and express their ideas.
- If you are uncomfortable enforcing classroom expectations, managing respectful disagreement, supervising students outside the classroom, or taking responsibility for safety.
What's In It For You
- The opportunity to introduce teenagers to the future of healthcare and help them explore pathways in medicine, engineering, and technology.
- A complete curriculum, lesson resources, activities, instructor training, and support from Circuit Stream’s Education team.
- A community of instructors and educators to connect with and learn from.
- A rewarding summer role where you can strengthen your teaching and mentorship skills while making a visible impact on students.
