British Swim School of East Columbus is seeking a part-time Swim Instructor to teach children water safety and swimming through the British Swim School program. This role blends fun energy with a focus on safety, progress, and positive learning experiences for young swimmers.

You’ll work primarily on Saturdays and Sundays, with additional weekday mornings available. Training is provided, and you can advance within a growing team while enjoying a supportive, upbeat environment.

Swim Instructor (Part-Time)

What This Job Really Requires

To be successful in this role, you must be:

• Available consistently on Saturdays and/or Sundays (our busiest teaching days—this is not optional)
• Weekday morning hours available (teaching our youngest students)
• Able to commit to a regular weekly schedule of a minimuim of 2 days/week for at least 6 months
• Comfortable working in the water for up to 4 hours per shift
• Energetic, patient, and confident working with young children, including those who may be fearful, distracted, or upset
• Reliable and punctual—our families depend on you being there every scheduled shift

If you’re looking for something flexible that you can easily adjust around other priorities, this role may not be the best fit.

What You’ll Do

• Teach swim lessons using the British Swim School program (training provided)
• Create a safe, supportive, and fun learning environment for young swimmers
• Communicate with parents/guardians about progress and comfort levels
• Follow all safety and program standards consistently
• Work closely with your Aquatics Manager and team

Training Commitment

• Paid training is provided
• Completion of all training sessions is required before teaching independently
• Ongoing monthly training is part of the role

Minimum Qualifications

• Enthusiastic and positive personality

• Strong sense of responsibility and safety awareness
• Willingness to complete all required training and maintain certifications

• Strong swimming skills
• Experience working with children
• Customer service experience
• Lifeguard/First Aid/CPR/AED certifications
