  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Geomatics, Surveying or related field plus two years relevant experience in civil engineering, geomatics, surveying or related field
  • OR
  • Associate’s degree in Civil Engineering, Geomatics, Surveying or related field plus four years relevant experience in civil engineering, geomatics, surveying or related field
  • Computer skills using basic functions of MS Word, MS Excel, MS Power Point, and Outlook

Responsibilities

  • Instructs and guides the class in an efficient and effective manner
  • Maintains accurate records of student work and attendance
  • Prepares thoroughly for each instructional hour
  • Maintains a safe and orderly learning environment
  • Counsels students regarding their grades and progress in the course
  • Grades and returns student work in a timely manner
  • Follows identified course activities to meet learning objectives that support the goals of the course
  • Assists with curriculum design
  • Maintains regular office hours
  • Stays abreast of most current teaching methods and technology in the classroom
  • Uses assessment techniques to improve learning and teaching
  • Serves on college or department committees as needed
  • Attends professional development opportunities when possible
  • Assists with establishing goals and objectives for the course, selecting text and constructing a syllabus
  • Maintains communication with instructors from other divisions in order to keep courses up-to-date and appropriate
  • Participate in graduation exercises

Minimum Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Geomatics, Surveying or related field plus two years relevant experience in civil engineering, geomatics, surveying or related field
  • OR
  • Associate’s degree in Civil Engineering, Geomatics, Surveying or related field plus four years relevant experience in civil engineering, geomatics, surveying or related field
  • Computer skills using basic functions of MS Word, MS Excel, MS Power Point, and Outlook
Preferences
  • Bachelor's degree (or higher academic credential) in Civil Engineering, geomatics, Surveying, or related field
  • Licensure as a Professional Engineer or Professional Land Surveyor
  • Experience with drones, GNSS equipment, automatic levels, total stations, and robotic surveying equipment
  • CADD, Civil 3D, PIX4D, and/or survey data collector experience
