ASU Preparatory Academy (ASU Prep) is seeking an Instructional Support Teacher to make knowledge accessible to all students and support cognitive development through ILPs and differentiated instruction.

You will work across classrooms, supervise hallways for instructional and safety purposes, and collaborate with SPED staff and administration to ensure high-quality education and a positive, engaging learning environment.

• Bachelor's Degree in Education or Post Bachelors in Education, required.
• State of Arizona Teaching Certificate (endorsements may be required).
• Flexibility in working in multiple classrooms and content areas.
• Active AZ DPS IVP Fingerprint Clearance Card.

Salary Range:

$50,000.00 - $59,500.00 USD annually.

The Instructional Support Teacher is responsible for making knowledge accessible to all students, developing students' cognitive capacity and fostering a culture of high expectations and academic excellence. This position delivers high-quality instruction through the implementation of Individual Learning Plans (ILPs), supports differentiated learning to meet diverse student needs, and creates a positive, engaging learning environment that promotes student achievement, confidence, and a lifelong love of learning.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Bachelor's Degree in Education or Post Bachelors in Education, required.
• State of Arizona Teaching Certificate (appropriate endorsements may be required depending on the area of instruction or have passed appropriate AEPA or NES proficiency exams).
• Flexibility in working in multiple classrooms and content areas.
• Active AZ Department of Public Safety (DPS) IVP Fingerprint Clearance Card.
• Any equivalent combination of experience, training and/or education from which comparable knowledge, skills and abilities may be considered.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Delivers instruction as a teacher for justified lengths of time, as determined by site director, in any content area and at any grade level when teacher of record is not available to teach his/her class.
• Deliver Special Education (SPED) services to students when the SPED teacher is not on campus, in collaboration with the SPED teacher and Principal.
• Supervise the Hallway - for instructional purposes to ensure all students working in the hallway are on task, engaged, and have instructional support for their questions and challenges.
• Supervise the Hallway - for safety to ensure all visitors sign in through the office and students do not leave campus.
• Coordinates with directors, mentors and office managers to schedule and teach classes as needed to allow for teachers to observe classrooms.
• Demonstrates preparation and skill in working with students from diverse cultural, economic and ability backgrounds.
• Follows all policies, rules and procedures for which all teachers are responsible and which good teaching practice dictates.
• Supervises students during emergency drills, assemblies, recreation periods, lunch periods, play periods, and field trips to include resolving conflicts.
• Responsible for all classroom duties in the assigned classroom.
• Assumes responsibility for overseeing student behavior in class and surrounding areas.
• Assists school-wide activities during ILP days.

• Communicates with classroom teacher reports of student and classroom progress.
• Responsible for following all plans, duties and schedules of the assigned during the teaching day, teaches the outlined lesson, maintains as fully as possible the established routines and procedures of the school and classroom to which he/she is assigned.
• Performs clerical duties including attendance record keeping, copying, cutting, filing, ordering of supplies, and the like as well as computer software skills.
• Assists in the well-being of students the fundamental value in all decision making.
• Works collaboratively to achieve the overall purposes of the school program.
• Maintains a classroom atmosphere conducive of learning.
• Maintains confidentiality of protected student and staff member information even after no longer being employed or enrolled.
• Participates in school and Network professional development, and school activities as expected of a classroom teacher.
• Meets regular and predictable attendance requirements.
• Additional duties may be assigned as necessary.
