Mattawan Consolidated School is seeking an Instructional Support Specialist to assist with MTSS in reading, writing and math. You will work with individuals or small groups to help students stay on grade level and track progress.
The role emphasizes high-leverage literacy practices, collaboration with teachers, and maintaining professional, confidential interactions with students and families. It requires a Bachelor’s degree and teaching certification, with endorsements in reading/math preferred.
POSITION: Instructional Support Specialist
EMPLOYER: Mattawan Consolidated School
The Instructional Support Specialist is responsible for supporting student achievement within the MTSS process with special attention to reading, writing, and math. They provide targeted Tier II/III instruction to students who are struggling to maintain grade-level progress skills in core subject areas, standards of behavior, and social-emotional learning. Instructional support is conducted with individual or small groups of students. This position is also responsible for monitoring, reporting, and communicating student progress and performance. This position is scheduled for 5 hours a day, 5 days a week.
Sitting, standing, lifting, and carrying (up to 50 pounds), reaching, squatting, climbing stairs, kneeling, must be able to see and hear the entire classroom, and moving light furniture may be required.
Knowledge of universal hygiene precautions.
Must know how to properly operate or be willing to learn to operate all multimedia equipment including current technology.
Hourly rate and work year per Mattawan Educational Support Association collective bargaining agreement.
